A bad end to a nice weekend

Sorry just need to share as it gets me down.

We were meant to have friends come stay for the weekend but they cancelled last thing. We decided to do the things we were going to do with them anyway and had a nice time just the two of us. It has been a while since we invested time in ourselves as a couple.

Was a great weekend until Sunday evening. I was just preparing dinner when I felt a need to go to the toilet. The feeling persisted even though three attempts led to nothing more than a bit of wind. But it got worst and so I gave up on our planned early night together for an early night alone in the spare room. Still nothing moving.

Padded up for the night (something I am used to now and find kind of comforting when sleeping alone). Not long after lying down, I felt something shift and I exploded. The pads held it all but felt like crap waddling to the bathroom and it was a hell of a mess to clear up. Had to shower just to feel clean. Fresh nappy and back to bed. Woke up early this morning and whilst getting out of bed another explosion.

A shit (literally) start to the week!

I don't mind pads/nappies (whatever you want to call then). I get some reassurance and even comfort from wearing them when things are not good, but I hate messing in them. I feel so low by having to clean up afterwards.

Instead of feeling low at having to clean yourself after using the medical equipment (pads or nappies), think how you would feel if this equipment wasn't available. I find, initially, these things are more acceptable if you transfer your name for them from the normal day to day item (because if it was a normal day to day, and you were in full health they wouldn't be needed) to the medical term for whatever you are using (If there is no medical name just refer to medical equipment). To be honest, just trying to find what the medical name is can be so time-consuming and a lot of work so you end up forgetting what you were nearly upset over. If you have managed to decipher and understand what I was getting up - WELL DONE. Get well, keep smiling and stay safe.

Ugh! That is the worse. I've been lucky enough to have very few of these episodes, but I honestly can't think of anything more depressing when it comes to IBS

Sorry for your spoilt weekend but it helps just to put it in writing and just to let you now you are not by yourself
