After months of pan, had a colonoscopy and a Botox injection. Report after it said I had a fissure. Now I’m constipated and I feel quite swollen down there. I expect not to poop for a few days after a colostomy but I’m feeling uncomfortable now and I’m a bit worried about the swelling, I assume it’s from the Botox, Which may be causing s an obstruction. I don’t see the surgeon for another week. Does anyone have any advice apart from not to panic. I’m not panicking actually but I am a bit concerned.

My daughter has had Botox injections twice for a fissure. The Botox relaxes the muscles and allows the fissure to heal. However, the Botox shouldn't make you constipated. Did you have a general anaesthetic or pain killers to take afterwards, because it is almost certainly that causing the constipation. My daughter was given Movicol to take with the painkillers to prevent the constipation caused by the drugs. Incidentally, the Botox worked really well for her and allowed the fissure to heal. I hope you feel better soon.
