Help with Bowel Control

I have been suffering with Pelvic pain and bowel pain which seems forever now. About 5 weeks ago I have Botox injections into my pelvic floor. I thought they had worked but they haven’t. Since then I have not been able to control or hold my bowel movements. Tests have confirmed that my sphincter muscles are damaged, basically I have no strength to hold if I need the loo, my resting muscles aren’t doing what they should and the signal to tell me I need the loo is not kicking in quick enough. I’m now incontinent not everyday but had two bed changes on Fridays night and have had an hour and a half in the bathroom this morning. Please give me my life back. Any advice. Thank you

I am so sorry about your problems. I can only suggest you contact St Mark's at Northwick Park Hospital, which is a centre of excellence for gastro-intestinal disorders. It is situated in Harrow, North West London.

I think they would, I know someone in Wiltshire who was referred there. As your GP.

So, so sorry for you. I can't remember being 'normal' - think you should see your doctor for some investigation and advice. There may be something a consultant could do to help. Good luck x

So Sorry that you are in agony with this horrible condition , my mother's cousin had also some control issues down there due to delivery / labour complications ..it was too bad that they had to close her anus by sewing it ( in a reversible way ) and open a side hole in her abdomen to install a " Stoma bag " in order for the waste to exit the body from this side instead of from down under ..just for a temporary time until the anal wound heals ..it took her around 3 years until she finally managed to remove it and went back to normal Exit Bowel movements !!

what I'm trying to say ..is that if the nerves of the sphincter are damaged and incontinence is getting worse and debilitating your life , there is another option " stoma bag " to make you feel more in control of your body.

Hope this helps wishing you the Best of Luck 🌹
