Hi guys! I’ve been managing my IBS quite well with paracetamol when needed and laxido for constipation but yesterday my pain was a bit different to normal and it’s just come back now after going to the loo. I went for a bowel movement and I noticed stringy blood clots when I wiped (it was 100% from my bowel movement and not like it’s blood from a tear from constipation as I went loo easily) bit concerned now as I’ve never had this before! xx

How "different" do you feel? Is it a there is something wrong feeling?
I only ask, as my consultant now uses a different system for dealing with changes in IBD/IBS symptoms. He now thinks that, as the patient knows their body better than anyone else, more weight should be put on their feelings and thoughts. It certainly proved the correct thing to do in my case recently. I had no pain, but felt wrong, and told this to A&E doctors, who initially refused to call my consultant or a member of his team as I did not have enough going wrong to warrant them coming to see me in A&E. As luck would have it, one of the junior doctors had a friend of his working in my consultants team. To cut a long story short, my consultant examined me, agreed with the A&E team, but decided to put his new theory and system to the test. I was admitted and within three days had to have emergency surgery to repair parts of my intestine and put me right. So, if you feel ok, then just keep a check on yourself, but if you feel "wrong" go and see someone who can help put you right.
I feel a bit more nauseous than normal and just a bit meh, it’s not like my normal IBS bloating and nausea which I get quite a lot. I may speak to my GP today and see what he thinks, I was just a bit shocked to see like stringy blood clots as I’ve never had that before, just bright red from a tear x
Hi! I will have to state the obvious but here goes.....us women all our bits are in the same area. So if you feel something is different go by your "gut" feeling and get back to your GP
Get him to give you a CA-125 blood test if the bloating/nausea(as per your reply to FReedman) is worse in case the problem my come from the womb.
It maybe a small pile forming it may be nothing.
Paracetamol -there were some concerns about long term use causing gut problems maybe worth speaking to your GP about this.
Hi helen1992x
Ditto what FRreedman suggested, go and see your GP/Consultant for testing soon. It does not have to be bad news but it's best to know.
Good luck...
Deffo get it checked out at the docs, my friend had this and she got diagnosed with chrones in the end but manages it well! Best to get it early though! All the best x
thank you for your replies i’ve booked to go and discuss with my GP x
