SIBO die off symptoms

Hi has anyone had antibiotics for SIBO and experienced die off symptoms after starting with the antibiotics? X

I took antibiotics for SIBO, but didn't experience any "die off" symptoms.

I’ve. Just finished a course of Rifaximin 14 days 3xday I didn’t really experience much of a die off I had fatigue and stabbing pains on day 3 by day 4 all my symptoms were gone

Did you take probiotics during your course of antibiotics? No more IBS symptoms?

No I was told by my Gastroenterologist that I should start on Alforex probiotic after I’d stopped the antibiotics. I’ve only just stopped the antibiotics so I’m just waiting to see if my symptoms all flare up again. I’m following a low fod map diet i will keep you all posted.

Thank you. Hope your symptoms will stay away (for a while). I've read that after a successful course with rifaximin symptoms can stay away for as long as 10 weeks. Hope I can start with my course of Rifaximin soon and I'll combine it with a multiple strain probiotic.

Good luck Rifaximin has really helped me I was getting bloated pains etc every day I was at my wits end I feel ‘ normal’ now I have a stricture so I guess I have slow motility which doesn’t help I’m also on a low fibre low residue diet with Ensure shakes which are high in sugar I’m sure this has caused my SIBO. I’ve cut out the Ensure I’m introducing fibre slowly with PHGG and some low fod maps fruits. Trouble is all my diets contradict each other it’s hard.
