Hi everyone, so I recently went for some blood tests, all have come back now but I am still waiting on my coeliac results. I had to also do a stool sample (fun..) and I have to re do it as it is slightly raised inflammation. My doctor said if still the same I am to be referred to a gastroentologist. I was wondering, can coeliac disease affect stool? As in inflammation wise?
Any advice please? : Hi everyone, so I recently... - IBS Network
Any advice please?
Hiya!! For some reassurance I'm in the same boat but just a few steps behind, I'm getting a blood and stool done soon mainly to see if its coeliac or not. I did some research and it said you can have either a slightly inflamed stomach or colon which is the reason its affecting your stool, if that makes sense.
Also if it makes you feel any better my doctor told me over the phone about the stool test thing and at the time i forgot what stool was so i just agreed, then i went and asked my sister what is a stool sample test and then she told me and i was omg noooooo, i had no idea what i just agreed to 😂😂😂😭 fair to say i was embarrassed for a good hour after 😂😂😂
Ah okay yes that does make sense, well hopefully I'll get the results for coeliac next week.. That does make sense though so thank you. I know it is soooo embarrassing!! 😂😂 Just having to awkwardly hand it over as well at reception 😂
Awe bless, fingers crossed!!
No worries
Omg nahhh I can'tttt deal 😂I'm going to have to do that tomorrow, I'm not looking forward to that 😂 I'm tempted to spray the bag with perfume and slip a note in the and be like I'm so sorry if this is the most disgusting thing you've ever seen 😂 😂 😂 I honestly don't understand how they do this as a job, big respect tho.
Also let me know on how it goes (obviously only if you feel comfortable)
If makes you guys feel any better - after a few stool samples the embarrassment dulls down.
Hope you’re both ok!
