Anyone been told that it looks more like IBD and turns out to be IBS. Calprotectin test 357.

The reason the results are put in blocks (0-50, 51-150, 151-300 etc), is because it is not an exact science, but an indication, or expectation. Someone with a Calprotectin score of 3,000 wouldn't, necessarily, he ten times worse than someone with a score of 300. So it is possible, especially if you had a big of some sort either side of your test.
My calprotectin was 329. I had a colonoscopy for this reason and I still came back with an IBS diagnosis. Statistically far more people with come back with an IBS diagnosis after colonoscopy than anything else even with elevated calprotectin. The calprotectin marker is just used to identify those who need further investigation.
My gp has told my daughter this isn’t ibs she’s saying this is crohns or diverticulitis. And worried both me and my daughter.
A gastroenterologist needs to give the diagnosis rather than the GP - unless the gastroenterlogist has passed on their diagnosis to the GP. If the GP thinks that elevated calprotectin automatically means an IBD diagnosis, they are wrong.
She said because of the mucus and the fact my daughter is thin, it’s not ibs. My daughter has lost few pounds but she’s always been picky and with stress has made it worse. And now she’s worrying even more now
If they actually said that they don't know what they are talking about - GPs are not qualified to diagnose IBD. You can't give someone an IBD diagnosis from someone being thin or having mucus. Mucus is extremely common with IBS. You'll need a referral from your GP to a gastroenterlogist and get a proper diagnosis if not done so already. It is more than likely she will get an IBS diagnosis. The best thing for your daughter is to just concentrate of what she has to do each day until the diagnosis and not be broached on the subject further. It sounds like she also needs treatment for her anxiety.
My daughter has asd and has a real fear of drs hospitals and this is making it worse
Oh dear. This is a lot to deal with for the both of you. It might be worth having a chat with the National Autistic Society to see if they can offer some advice and potentially provide some hands on support for your situation, so your daughter can get the diagnosis and help that she needs.
Yes I think it happens a lot. Some medications or tummy bugs can cause things to go wayward. Change of meds or diet may help. From previous posts you've put on, you say your issues started when you went on a particular birth control pill. To be honest the first thing I'd be looking at would be speaking to your GP to get this changed for an alternative. It could be as simple as that. Fingers crossed you get some answers ASAP
The gp said that the pill would not be the cause of it. My daughter suffers with extreme anxiety and is now worried sick
My other suggestion would be then if you can afford a private consultation I think around £200/250, get a referral and then opt to be tested via nhs. At least you stand a chance of getting things moving quicker. The Anxiety wont be helping either. The sad thing about gut issues is they can be very individual so only the persons involved can make those decisions. No point in asking who else has these problems, the answer is "quite a few". At least once the tests are done you can deal with whatever they recommend.
