IBS-D - Silicogel

For anyone like me, who suffers from IBS-D, I would thoroughly recommend Solicogel, which you can buy from any natural health shop, such as Holland and Barratt. I have tried many things over the last few years since my problem got worse, but other than the usual Imodium type of tablets, this works very well. In layman terms it apparently coats the stomach, and makes it less sensitive, meaning it slows the system down. It took a few days before I noticed any improvement, but now I wouldn't be without it. It's definitely worth a try.

Thanks for that, are you using this every day and if so how many doses per day? Has your D calmed down. I did try this a few years ago and not sure why I stopped, maybe expense?

I only use ons tablespoon per day which is enough for me. It is very expensive, about £9 for a small bottle, but once my stomach settles down a bit I stop for s while until the next time it flares up

It doesn't taste nice but it does seem to work. I have used it for about 3 months and no longer need it.

It does work but is a bit expensive.

Ive found it gives me stomach cramps initially but if you can put up with that it does work.
