Hello all,

New here! Ive had ongoing issues with constipation for last ten years ( i am 28) but recently tummy is more crampy and nosiey after i eat, and i have left lower abdo pain and right after i eat. Taking senna and docusate for constipation.

Getting ultra sounds and colonoscopy soon but has anyone experienced or have a sausage shaped mass in lower left abdomen that gets bigger and smaller? I have read it can be a symptom of IBS

Thanks

I think that's stool you're feeling.

In my case, yes, bc my colon is redundant. Too many feet and covers the same ground more than once. I would need to look an an anatomy poster, but I think the length of colon nearest the "exit" is on our right, not left, so it could still be a bit backed up. (Of course I'm not a doctor and I'm not even looking at your belly, so it's hard to say!)

Yeah, ive had the lump for years, which has got bigger/smaller/ more painful when i need toilet. However it is always there.

Have you found the same kinda thing?

I have read it can be cramping and this can cause it to harden when its doing this, its just it never seems to go fully away.

Will see how it goes!

I have the exact same thing! It hurts when I press on it too, radiates to my legs and belly. Did you ever find out what it is? gI and ob gyn both said it’s nothing serious but can’t answer me exactly. Colonoscopy and ultrasound were normal. I am freaked out tho

Sorry but the colon nearest the exit is normally found on the left.

Oh, whoops. You're correct. Mine is redundant, so I have extra feet that loop more than the once neatly you see on anatomy drawings. Maybe your imaging will show something enlightening to explain your sausage-shaped mass.
