Omeprazole

Has anyone tried Omeprazole for ibs nausea.

I am on it because I am on steroids for life and it doesn't reduce my nausea at all but ginger tea does you have to make it with fresh ginger though 😊

Hi. I've been on Omeprazole for around 8 years....starting at 1 tablet a day, I'm now on 2 a day. No, they don't help my nausea but they do help my acid production and reflux due to hiatus hernia caused by Scleroderma. I also use vitamin b12 patches because ppi drugs such as Omeprazole inhibit absorption of this vitamin through stomach.

I had Omeprozale first in 2010. It seems I suffer like my late mother from producing excess Acid. But I usually now only take this, if Im going to eat later than 7pm or its meal out or its a treat like a chinese. Amprozele some years ago, was hailed as another wonder drug, true it can treat ulcers as well Im told. But the problem with daily use, is that Amoprozele is classed as a PPI (Proton pump inhibitor). The human body needs acid to digest and break down food, to distribute minerals and other essentials around the body. Ameprozele inhibits the take up of some of these essential vitamins and enzymes. I see DebiH has done her homework to.!! On occasions I take one an hour before an above meal, it normally works by the time Im ready for bed, so getting indigestion is greatly lowered. Some people find Omeprozele will affect their stools, and other nitty things. But As Is say, I only take them as and when really needed. If you have to take them regular, I suggest a multivitamin supplement once a day at least.

I take lansoprazole for GERD. But I am seeing dr for review.

Hi, my doctor prescribed it for me as I had food poisoning back in November and was getting constant nausea (and diarrhoea) right up until about 3 weeks ago but it wasn't doing anything for me. I agree with jojokarak that ginger tea works well and I expect that fresh ginger is best but I have been buying the Pukka Three Ginger Tea and I find that helps. I also take Stugeron Travel Sick tablets and have to say they have helped enormously since the food poisoning.

I went to see a Nutritionist 4 weeks ago and she said I had a high sensitivity to Rye, Barley, Gluten, Yeast and Cow's milk (I'm Vegan so not a problem with the milk) and I also have a medium sensitivity to peas. I have cut out all but the peas and am starting to feel a lot better. I have now ordered a Gut Biome Test which has come through the post and will be sending that one off in the next couple of days. I am trying to re-balance my gut to cure me permanently.

Mine started three weeks ago from the heat I think. Just can’t get right. No appetite and losing weight. All from an upset stomach three weeks ago. My mind is going haywire!

I was like that. I had an upset tummy with acute nausea and diarrhoea right from the food poisoning in November until seeing the Nutritionist 4 weeks ago, I am so much better now. Our food and what the manufacturers put into it and the pesticides that are used have a lot to answer for.

The Stugeron worked for me but there are other travel sick tablets out there is they don't work for you and of course ginger which is brilliant.

no it doesn't i was on it for a while before i was diagnosed and it didn't help a bit.

It didn't help me either hence taking Stugeron.
