I’m starting Linzess 72 mcg. Has anyone taking Linzess with Omeprazole and probiotic? If so, have you had good results or bad!

Linzess, Omeprazole & Probiotic
just make sure you are taking the omeprazol then leaving at least a 2hour gap before taking your other medications because omeprazol can block the absorption of medication and basically stop them from working so please don’t take them all together as I know doctors tend to forget to tell patients about this fact. However I’ve never heard of omeprazol helping with constipation…….why are you taking the omeprazol?
I’m taking Omeprazole for EOE-Eosinophilic Esophagitis.
I should take Omeprazole first then wait 2-hours to take the Linzess with probiotic. Is this correct?
hi. I am not sure about the probiotic but definitely wait two hours before taking the Linzess as this is a medication and the omeprazol can block the absorption of it. I personally don’t get on with probiotics they all make my symptoms worse so I couldn’t comment on the probiotic but definitely with regards to any medication leave two hours post omeprazol to take. Hope that helps 😊
I have been taking Linaclotide (Constella, Linzess to you) with Alflorex probiotic (Align in the US). These in combination have made a massive improvement to my IBS pain. I haven't been taking a PPI alongside though.
I've also taken Linaclotide (ie linzess) with omeprazole, but it didn't help me at all. Yes, as omeprazole lines the gut to prevent acid reflux, it will prevent other medications being absorbed effectively, so don't take at the same time. There is a strong link between acid reflux and IBS, so I think it is very common to take medication for both.
I take 290mcg Linaclotide. It helped function but pain still bad but then i do have diverticulitis too.
I have been taking Omeprazole for about 30 years (for acid reflux) I've tried various probiotics alongside it but they haven't made any noticeable difference (good or bad).
I have to tell you my experience with Linzess. I was on it for almost a year with increasing doses. It made my stomach pain worse and it created more distention and bloating. My gi kept insisting I stay on it and finally, I had to get off it. Since that time I have been working with a nutritionist who specializes in ibs-c and it has really helped. The best thing you can do in my opinion is to work on your diet and nutrition. It really helps and doesn't that make sense anyway? You want to help your body do what it does naturally anyway. Increase motility and take away dietary triggers. All the best to you.
