Hi guys, im sure this is a common problem in the IBS community (specifically IBS-C). I have alternating IBS between C and D so i can go from no bowel movements a day to up to 10. I find either way i always end up with almost constant fissures. Is there any way i can help prevent this? Im currently using anusol and it does work but it’s not ideal to have as a comstant treatment.
Thank you

I too experience this. I've been taking sodium docusate (3 or 4) daily now for about 2 months to try and help soften the stools to let the fissure heal. I did discuss this with both a gastro consultant and a haematology consultant and neither was worried about prolonged usage. My case is slightly different as my IBS-C was brought on after having Burkitt Lymphoma treatment.
I have same issues and for me what had been working is every time you are done wiping , do the final swipe with Prep-h . ( maybe anusol is similar and that would work too. ) I have been doing this for a couple months now and it works . Hope you have similar luck with it if you try it . Take care, Marti
have literally tried everything except surgery for Reoccurring fissure.. The pain has been unrelenting for almost 2 years. I wanted to pass this on as I know that any relief or ideas are appreciated!!!
As of a month ago I tried Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay
100% Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay that’s great for facials, body wraps, clay baths, foot soaks, hair masks, chilled clay knee packs, insect bites & more
Can buy it from Amazon. You can mix with apple cider vinegar and put directly on the area, soak in it or I even read make suppositories with it. This is the only thing that I can attribute to long stretches of relief and not retearing.
I know we're all different, but I had to share as this is such a painful and debilitating at times problem.
