Hey guys

So any one that has read one of my posts knows how much i advocate how important this is especially for people like us with ibs and it just so happens i have day off and it is on BBC1 right now! about how it been proven that a healthy gut with good bacteria is a way that can eliminate it for good ( like it did with me) or it may actually be the reason u have it.

So for anyone who has not spoken to me or read a post i will tell you QUICK VERSION of my story.

I had little signs of ibs as a child but it got worse about 2 years ago to point of lying on my kitchen floor past out and my husband having to rush me to a&e where i had 2 weeks impaction stuck inside my colon ( yes !!! The pain ouchie).

I dont know what was more painful the actual physical pain or embarrassment!

When i got out i decided that was never happening to me again and i had to do something as i had ibs c and i would go about once a week or once a fortnight. Then id get massive pain and be on toilet for days.... i could not go on like this and i just could not get my head around why this was happening to me and why now!

I was constantly stressed, anxious, tired, i was bloated, always had a cold and looked generally under weather.

I eventually spoke to a friend who is a personal trainer and nutritionalist and she sent me to a naturopath. I was dubious but desperate....

I saw mark he was fabulous, he took one look at me and said “ oh ur not well are u” at which i burst into tears as i was at end-of my tether by this time.

We did a test on allergies, what my body wanted and did not want... i found out i was gluten intolerant and cows milk, which is gives massive constipation problems.

I then pooped in a tray ha ha yep the final humiliation... as soon as he saw it he went “ u have huge candida problem” BAD BACTERIA!!!

Who knew???

I asked what this was? Why my dr kept giving me antibiotics but not knowing why?

As soon as i said ANTIBIOTICS he went “ THERES UR CULPRIT”!!!!!

So explaination-

ANTIBIOTICS- they kill any bad bacteria or infection in ur body = GOOD!!!

ANTIBIOTICS= when ur GP keeps giving them to you what happens is if u have no infection and no bad bacteria it has nothing to kill but it will still work so it will kill everything.... all ur good gut bacteria, ur stomach lining, ur colons good bacteria that keep it clean and working, everything.... plus ur liver and kidneys are still having to break down the toxins to get rid of the antibiotics.

Then what ur left with is nothing!!! A stripped out gut ,colon and inflammation thats where the candida comes into play.... it bad bacteria and it stronger so it grows and grows and ur get sick! All the symptoms above i mentioned.

I asked what i needed to do and this is the diet i was given-

1. No processed food( contains sugar which feeds candida)

2. No sugar( including fructose in some fruits)

3. Only drink water or low cal soft squash

4. No yeast ( as candida is yeast so ur feeding it more yeast) so no bread or pastries

5. No alcohol

6. No gluten or dairy

Yes this sounds harsh but it was only 6-8 weeks and u will b amazed!!!

Then u replenish ur body-

1. PROBIOTICS PROBIOTICS PROBIOTICS!!!!!!

( u have got to out the good back in)

2. White meats ( no red)

3. VEG VEG VEG VEG

4. Water water water

5. I brought a tablet called “ DIDA” it has all the natural herbs the naturopath told me kills candida and it did!

6. VITAMIN C!

7. A good digestive enzyme

You only do this for 6-8 weeks u do not have to live by this it is purely to kill and replenish stomach... anyone thats done this ( which i have had 4 emails thanking me and saying it has worked for them) know u feel better after a week so imagine after 6!!!

I have had no ibs in 18 months!!!!

I still take the tablets to keep healthy and i am still gluten and cowsmilk free.

Added bonus i lost 2 stone ...

Had not one cold! Or flu! I am endlessly bounding about and i look and feel so much healthier( apart from back problem but hey i cant have everything).

So please if this sound like u and u have had alot of medication b it antibiotics or painkillers maybe give this a try...

as i promise u if this is ur problem( candida /sibo) this is ur answer!!

No tablets no antifunghal tablets no more antibiotics....

Do it naturally and properly!!

AND NO IM NOT SELLING ANYTHING???

sorry someone asked if i was selling any of these supplements and i sounded like i was a sales person ...

I am a estate agent so if u need a house lol!!!

What a great post! I am not gluten or dairy intolerant so would I still need to cut these out? My gut is struggling after a particularly aggressive dose of antibiotics to kill h.Pylori. Also I have severe belching sessions. It’s really painful, loud and embarrassing. When particularly bad I vomit a really horrible substance, tastes like acid. Have had endoscopy and ultrasound, both clear. The tablets and sachets from the doctor went in the bin last week as they were making me worse. Going to explore the natural way now I think, see what happens xx

Yes it would help u as h pylori is a bacteria plus no doubt they gave u the old triple antibiotics which is absolutely horrific!!!

If they dont kill ur gut bacteria nothing will!!

It not really about what u had

ie u had the antibiotics for h pylori someone else had it for bladder infection it just THAT U HAD THEM....

It all come back to the antibiotics, im not saying dont take them but just think about how to take them, as in looking after ur good bacteria. Ie taking probiotics , digestive enzymes , peppermint oil and vitamin c whilst ur taking them so u are replenishing at same time as there killing.

See now ur saying about the acid reflux that a sure sign ur body is not digesting properly as it is producing to much acid To break down foods.

So u would defo get something out of it especially with digestive enzymes they help break fatty foods down and help ur body not to produce bile or reflux.

The diet is about stripping back all the bad stuff we put in our body which if u have a gut problem ie ibs, h pylori, candida, sibo, acid reflux it makes it work to hard it cant cope and it will tell u by giving u pain or constipation or poops😫.

So u give it a rest!

U take all the hard to digest food out and let it have a couple weeks off whilst u replenish it and help it back to good bacteria with all the vitamins and good foods and it retrains it ( ie when u done it u will not crave sweet foods anymore , i was a suckers for choc and cake not touched one since) and lets the inflammation go down and kills all the bad bacteria ...

Then u just start reintroducing foods but ur eating will change..

I didnt wana go back to eating bad foods as i just felt so good why would i?

I have had not one bellyache or poops or constipation ( which was my prob) in over 18 months now.

I lived on pepto bismol for reflux or gutache, not touched anything since.

I do still take all the supplements because my immune is so much better so i decided to keep them up.

My whole family had flu about month ago and i did not get it.. miracle.. i usually would of been the one that gave it to everyone.

As for the gluten/ dairy thing with u i would try not to take in gluten for say just a couple of week for pure fact our bodies find gluten hard to digest so if ur gona do the diet it seems abit silly to still give it something that may not help. As i said it not for life just 6 weeks?

I stayed away form anything prepacked ie cereal and things so u dont have to buy gluten free if it to expensive. I mainly ate bananas, rices, quinoa, veg, lots spinach and chicken and turkey, salads, crispbreads with hummous, dairy free cream cheese. I never went hungery
