Wow..I started Seroquel for mood disorder from my Psychiatrist last Thursday. I was not happy to be put on an "Antipsychotic" when I only have Depression and Panic attacks/severe anxiety. I'm also on Remeron, Wellbutrin XL, and two anxiety meds. She said this med is not only used for Schitzophrenia..(hope I spelled right) and Bi-polar..but as a very sedating med for my Insomnia..and breakthrough anxiety...which is used off label for these purpose. I have noticed more well-being. I'm just nervous from the muscle twitching and weird "shivers" or "tingling" In my lower back..but she wants me to continue it for at least another two weeks before my follow up with her. Said side effects will go away if I give the medication a chance. So far, my Insomnia has stopped..just got 8 hours of sleep for the first time in months, and was even able to take a brief nap yesterday afternoon. This seems like a wonder med. Since starting it, have noticed no more IBS. I was even able to make a healthy vegetarian pizza..no cramping! ☺. Even had a sub from Subway..no cramping..but will make myself to continue to eat healthy, but remain in a low fiber diet, as Fiber bulks me up to much and leads to even more "C" and does not work for me. However, I just read that Seroquel can cause constipation. But I am on meds that cause "C" already. I'm so thankful this med is helping with pain. Maybe since it is "very sedating" it is relaxing me/ intestines? Is anyone on Seroquel? I just hope the side effects and muscle spasms go away..or she will take me off medication. Thanks for reading. ☺🐱🌹.

Seroquel saved my life in many ways. It eliminated my anxieties and helps me sleep nightly. I told my DR she better never take it away. I am a happy self thru the worst of pain. For constipation I use Citrucel twice daily and occasionally Miralax for days to soften my stool. Life with IBS is a long, hard road. Hang in there.

It's a great med, although a lot of people think it's dangerous...due to many side effects. This is the 2nd Medication that saved my life. The first was Remeron, they put me on in the Psychiatric unit in Hospital in 2005. Had severe side effects and ideation from Cymbalta. I think Fiber does not work for me to well..Tried Citrucel..but it made things worse. It was "messy" for me. I would stir it, and finally it would blend, but I noticed a "gel" like substance on the sides of my glass. I thought what was it doing to my bowels..I had some sort of movement..but it was sticky from the gel I think Citrucel has In it. Took me 10 minutes to get all that sticky mess off my glass. But I hear it works well for a lot of people. Benefiber helped somewhat, but I was going all day..with just "pellets" nothing else. Very frustrating. Miralax made me cramp to much, and I was nervous about the "black box" safety warning that FDA put on it. I may try Metamucil, but don't want to be too "bulked up" due the Psylum husk in it. Prescribed Linzess, didn't work, but maybe I'll try it again..the 290mg. Tried "Natural calm" (Magnesium citrate powder supplement)..but it tore up my stomach. I used the smallest dose. Do you find Seroquel to help with IBS/ cramping? I feel very calm too and sleeping better. But a muscle in my back twitches/spasms non-stop. The only thing is that it dries me up causing "C". Thanks for reading..I am glad to hear Seroquel helped you.

Linzess gives me severe diarrhea. I found with Citracel you do not mix it to consistency but just mix it quickly and swallow. I have suffered from constipation since birth. Add to that major pain meds and mood regular and "going" has been a most disagreeable. I can understand the frustration in everyone's constipation circus. I do pray you find more answers. I am wondering the side effects that people find so dangerous in Seroquel, as I just reviewed those effects. I take so many dangerous drugs maybe I have become dulled to the understanding.

Thank you for your response, Marsha

Constipation, possible glycoma, fast heartbeat, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, Steven Johnson's syndrome, Tardive Dyskinsia..just Google "Seroquel serious side effects" it will give you a very large list.

Thank you..I don't think my PRoc will switch me. The sulpiride like most antipsychotics I saw..first side effect is constipation. I don't think we have this medication in the states. Thanks for replying..☺🌸
