pain

i am sat with a wheat bag on my tummy. i keep catching gastroenteritis and never quite recovering. i have had loads of tummy tests and was told i had some divertculas but this is normal as everyone has them. i was then discharged. i have tried all the different diets there are and nothing has helped. how do others cope?

Hi JulieVictoria, I know just how you feel I've started wearing tena pants when I go out for that extra sense of security. I work with children and I keep catching tummy bugs off them but with me because I've got ibs they tend to linger longer. I seem to be on I a permanent diet of toast and plain food. People don't understand and just say it's my nerves I'm totally fed up with it all we just have to hang in there we've got no choice.

I get told it is just anxiety well if it is then why not offer treatment for the anxiety?!

Hi JulieVictoria, Have you had IBS as a diagnosis? Doctors love to say things are all in our heads, i think they get the cause and the effect the wrong way round.

i have a post infectios IBS ive had for over 3 years, all my tests come up clear yet i still feel like i have food poisoning.

I only have the diagnosis diverticulas. And that these are normal for everyone and cause no symptoms. I was then discharged.
