Hello not post for a while probably because my ibs has improved but struggling with my phobia/anxiety around sick bugs. Last week one guy was off with a D bug, yesterday two people from work, who I work more closely with, are off. Not sure what they are off with but I'm imagining it's the same sick bug and now I'm terrified of getting it, then being ill, then passing it on to my little ones, then having months of bowel problems and being off sick and not being able to do anything and feel like shit again for months.
Someone please tell me that a sick bug won't necessarily cause ibs to get worse, that's what I'm most afraid of

Sadly catching any sick bug may trigger ibs again but if you take precautions you can really minimise the risk of catching it. I am a hospital worker so frequently come into contact with patients with stomach bugs, I suggest always wash your hands if you come into contact with them or any of the surroundings they’ve touched, don’t share food. You won’t catch it by just being around them. Keep some hand sanitiser on you if you’re really anxious. Try not to stress too much, as there are ways to help yourself. Hope this helps
