Have suffered from IBS for quite some time which is getting worse. A gastro specialist informed me that I had palpable left iliac fossa, gripping acute abdominal pain, continuous. Relieved by bowel movements. Had a blood test but this suggested things were okay. Read online that this could be suggestive of a colonic cause. Also read about acute abdominal pain. Are these related and should I be trying to get tests done for these?

What is palpable left iliac fossa?
Not sure, but believe connected to the colon... have just spoken to a GP and she seems to suggest that it just implies that I need to expunge some more faeces to alleviate these symptoms and that it is nothing to worry about. So feel reassured..
