Is it IBS or IBD

I recently received both a upper GI endoscopy and a colonoscopy. Both came clean. The GI doctor did not find anything. So why do I still feel bloated? Could there still be something wrong? I am very frustrated. I was treated for constipation

with miralax. I still had pressure undermy rib cage. I had xrays, cat scans done and they didn't find anything wrong. I was recommended to see the GI doctor. He conducted the upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy and didn't find anything. I still feel bloated (Under my rib cage). It still takes a while for food to digest.

Could there be a misdiagnosis or is it just gas? Do I continue to take the miralax once a day to insure regularity? I do have a probiotic (Nature's Bounty with 1 million organisms including acidophilus and lactobacillus).

The GI doctor also administered a biopsy and everything came out clean.

What could be the problem?

this sounds very much like trapped wind probably caused by something you are eating that does not agree with you. I've been reading GUT the inside story by Giulia Enders, fascinating reading. In there she suggests sleeping on your left side to help the excess wind escape as our stomach is lop sided and the opening is actually on the right, or forcing ourselves to burp by swallowing air. She also suggests avoiding alcohol as the 'alcohol can multiply the number of gas producing bacteria by a factor of up to a thousand'.

With that in mind it could well be fruit causing your bloating, as the fruit sugars can sometimes be turned to alcohol by our bodies.

Hope this is of some help.
