Was fearing the worst after going out for a meal.

It was my daughters 18th last night and we've had a table booked at our local Italian for a while.

I started a strict low fodmap diet 2 weeks ago and have really noticed a difference, Hence I was dreading today, especially since I'm working at a wedding from 4-12 tonight.

I avoided pasta etc but there was little on the menu that wasn't a no no so I just opted for the best bet.

At 7am the pains started followed by the sudden urge to go, I expected this to last for a while. However that wasn't the case. 30 minutes later it was all over and (touch wood) I'm ok so far.

Back to the regime today.

I'm starting it--probably not wise during holiday season. The wheat free is the hardest part.

That is good. What are you normal symptoms? Where do you get this formal diet from? I get IBS but it is monthly and I cannot leave the loo for 45 minutes as the whole bowel is irritated. Well done to you.

I'm using the monash university fodmap diet, via the iPhone app.

I'm more strict though, avoiding all cereals other than rice.
