bisphosphonates and dizziness
I started taking alendronate (70mg once a week) about 10 weeks ago. I was very dubious about it but did lots of research and ultimately decided to give it a go having read accounts from people who are housebound/ in constant pain due to their osteoporosis. Initially I seemed to be tolerating it well.

Do I need to take Alendronate?
Hi everyone, I Got the results of my DEXA bone scan, and I'm not sure if I need to be on Alendronate. (My rheumy prescribed it to me before these results came in, just saying "since you're going to be on steroids long term you need it.") Can someone tell me if the numbers below warrant me being on

I started on Prednisone November 11 2021. The diagnosis was probable GCA. I remember writing a post on here detailing how crazy/busy my life. 101 things on the go at the same time. I received lots of replies about needing to slow down etc. At the time I had no idea just how much I would need to slow

NDT has raised my thyroid anti-bodies. What's next?
Hi All, As I just made a post with my update on NDT (good T3 and T4 levels, but TSH is 0.017, so too low), I received my latest anti-bodies results. And they went up! I've heard some people shared how their anti-bodies went up as well on NDT. Yes, I'm on a gluten-free, whole food diet, been on

Hi, I have been on Pred and also Alendronic Acid since diagnosis for PMR March 22 I decided against Omeprezole in favour of taking live yogart like others on this site and Rheumi agreed. And have just reduced to 3mg of pred. I saw my rheumi on Monday who was pleased with how I was doing and who is

MCT Oil
in another thread someone posted today about MCT oil. I hadnāt heard of this and have tried to research it. It seems to be useful in a variety of situations and claims include support in weight gain, increased energy, constipation t and pain relief. Really it sounds a bit of a ācure allā. Iām wondering

Rheuma wants me on alendronate?! What are your t-scores?
So, I saw my new Rheuma for the 2ed time. I was prepared to explain how affull I felt (flair), and why I needed to go back on 10 mg, but I could have saved my breath. He could tell from the way I rose from the chair and walked towards him! "You are not so flying anymore?" he said. So we agreed to go

Safe to take Gabapentin for life?
I havenāt been able to find any reliable info on whether Gabapentin is safe to take for life (30+ years), specifically for severe PLMD with pain. My husband has this and has not started it yet, as his neurology visit isnāt until later this week. His case seems to be different than any we have read about

7 years in May since I was diagnosed.
I've been reminding myself how far I've come. Back in 2016 I was struggling to have enough energy to get dressed and spent many days in my PJ's. Most I managed was to provide a meal each day. Showering was exhausting so that didn't happen often either. Back then I had few spoons and when they were

Hello Everybody, I had a DEXA scan in 2020, as far as I can see the only worrying result was the neck of femur -2.7. I have just had another DEXA scan on a different machine, and the same result was -2.9. To me, that is not a great difference, having been on steroids for 2 1/2 years. I now have been
