Just in case anyone doesn't know already... ;) Why Is Vitamin D So Important to Thyroid Patients?By Mary Shomon
Where does vitamin D fit, in terms of the other nutrients that can be useful for thyroid health, for example, selenium, copper, and
zinc
, and issues like avoiding too much soy, and balancing iodine intake?

New on this forum and newly diagnosed with osteoporosis, advice please
I have been eating prunes for about 6 months as only just found out they may be good for bones, also taking some
zinc
. How is osteoporosis defined in diagnosis, obviously something showed up in the DXA scan but what do I need to find out at my appointment or before?

Confused - Don't Know what's going on
My Vitamin A,
Zinc
and Vitamin D were low at the time, but B12 was apparently normal at 316. Today, I went back to the endocrinologist for a check in and still said we will just wait and see.

Ferritin/b12/iron confusion
Hi, I have been following advice from this site and have been supplementing D3 with co factors, b12,
zinc
& selenium. I feel much better and my muscle aches have disappeared so thanks everyone. The only thing is, I’m still very pale.

7 Week Wait for First Rheumatologist Appointment
I’ve been frightened of taking
zinc
and herbal anti inflammatory which helps a great deal at the moment in case it decreases the likelihood of being correctly diagnosed. (It seems as if only numbers on blood tests matter rather than symptoms.) On the other hand I don’t want to be in pain.

Thoughts on “mass market” supplements
The differences I note are as follows: -Not having more absorbable D/
zinc
/B/selenium absolutely wrecks sleep patterns - stopping black cumin seed oil makes a huge impact on exercise resilience in terms of ease of breathing under hard aerobic conditions - beef liver capsules again makes a real difference

Uric Acid/testosterone and Vit D test results
I am assuming just being under is not too much of a problem - maybe get some
zinc
or is it insignificant? I had wanted to get a testosterone test anyway as getting a few beard hairs and zilch sex drive for a few yrs now and no normal hormone fluctuations you sense over your cycle.

Can’t tolerate thyroid medications/hormone treatment
I also take all the supplements typically recommended, like iodine, iron, selenium,
zinc
, b vitamins, d etc. I’m not sure how to proceed with this problem.
