Zetia

Has anyone been prescribed this in place of Zetia?

I already take 2 cholesterol drugs (pravastatin and zetia) with no side effects, and my cholesterol on the last 2 tests was within range. He wants my LDL to be below 60 however. Is it possible to get your cholesterol too low? I know high levels are bad.

Rheumy watching and sorting out PMR vs. medication induced ( from zetia a non statin cholesterol medication known to cause muscle pain) ( I had to go off statins because of severe muscle pain and elevated.CK.

-I also take Orgovyx, crestor 5mg and zetia 5mg, as well as 81mg aspirin [i][A side note - This shows the complexity of the body, and how it reacts based on dosages.

I'm using Crestor 5 mg plus 5mg Zetia and my ldl has gone down to a level, which puts me at risk of infection. Plus, my brain isnt functioning nearly as well as it used to. My current ldl is 27.

Dr would like to put me on either fenofibrate or Zetia. I have read lots of not-so-good side effects from the fenofibrate. Anyone have experiences with either of these medications good or bad?

Calquence and Zetia

I'm thinking about going back to Crestor, but with a low dose of 5mg, combined with 5 or 10mg of Zetia. I did the research this week, and it looks like a good option for those who are getting muscle and joint aches.

The GP wants me to see an endocrinologist, but they are booked until mid Feb....I asked what can I do in the meantime and my GP just said continue the diet...after pressing her, she prescribed Zetia because I am intolerant to statin drugs.

It was only when I threatened to take myself off the statin that she eventually agreed to put me on ezetimibe (brand names Ezetrol, Zetia) instead.

Taking Crestor and Zetia. Does anyone have any recommendations about dealing with the pain? I need the statins as I'm CABG x3 recently. Call is already into cardiologist.

Does anyone on here take zetia or ezetimibe for cholesterol? I cannot tolerate the pain that statins cause and my cholesterol has gone up since I have been off Lipitor.

that I learned in the cardiologist office which I have been going to for years because I used to get premature ventricular contractions,which is scary premature heart beat often,and my cholesterol is slightly high,so are my triglycerides ,and my good cholesterol has always been low,so I'm on 10 mg of Zetia

Has anyone tried zetia? I would like to know if it works and have had any side effects.

I STOPPED THE COLESTROL MED ZETIA 3 DAYS AGO TO RULE THAT MED CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN ON VERAPAMIL 180 MG. FOR 4 MONTHS. DOC SAID I NEED THIS MED TO RELAX MY HEART MUSCLE AS I HAVE THICKENING OF THE HEART MUSCLE ON THE LEFT SIDE CAUSED BY HAVING HIGH BP FOR SO MANY YRS.

It may be used alone (marketed as Zetia or Ezetrol), when other cholesterol-lowering medications are not tolerated, or together with statins (e.g., ezetimibe/simvastatin, marketed as Vytorin or Inegy) when statins alone do not control cholesterol.

I am not one that likes to take medications, all I take now is cholesterol medication and can't take statin so they have me on zetia.  He still gave me Spiriva sample and actually made me take it in his office.  This made me nervous (probably just because a new med but not sure).  

I stopped taking two of the hypertension meds, Zetia and Lisinopril, and let Parkie control the blood pressure. He has done a great job. Blood pressure has stayed in an acceptable range. No episodes, no angina. I no longer carry nitro.
