Why I need to have a heart attack !!!
What a terrible thing to have to write but sadly it is true. Please let me explain. On 4th December I was scheduled to have triple heart bypass surgery but the procedure was postponed just before I was due to be taken into theatre. I would add that the operation was due to be undertaken at a private

Not Sure What to do Next
In March I saw my EP who put me on the waiting list for an ablation for SVT. This will be my second, the first was in 2014 for Afib. I have been reasonably well throughout the summer with a heart rate in the mid 90s until the end of September when my heart rate suddenly shot up to 150 and stayed there

Merry Xmas from within the NHS
I have been waiting for heart surgery since the beginning of the pandemic Two days before Xmas I have two heart attacks - seems that’s the way to speed things up. Xmas dinner was courtesy of the NHS - I have eaten worse however Santa did come and each of us ladies on the ward received a gift. I will

Question about Metoprolol
Hi all - just curious, I’m taking 25 mg metoprolol twice a day and I should have stopped it by now but worried my ectopics will increase if I do. Does metoprolol affect heart rhythm or just heart rate?

Finding a Personalized Approach To Treating Chronic Rejection After Lung Transplantation.

Beef Cobbler with Cheese and Rosemary Scones for Lytham's Casserole Off
I apologise for the picture, it doesn't do justice to the casserole, however, in future I would add more stock, as the scones soak up a lot of the gravy. It tastes fantastic! Even if I do say so myself! :D
INGREDIENTS FOR 8 PORTIONS
900g braising/stewing/chuck steak cut into cubes 3 tbsp coconut

Pain threshold?
Am I being a wimp & just need to man up? I really don’t know how I’m meant to feel or if the level of aches & pain I’m experiencing is ‘normal’ or as expected - can anyone tell me how they feel and deal with this ? I’m struggling in the mornings with stiff legs, lower back pain getting out of bed. Then

A taste of Mexican - Vegetarian Style
My daughter has been coming over each week and cooking a meal for us whilst I’m laid up. This week it was Vegetarian Burrito Bowls. The base is black beans, butter beans, corn kernels, onion and taco seasoning cooked up together and served with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, avocado,

Can I ask how long those in paid employment were off work for after Open Heart surgery (planned/elective)?

Has anyone had their ablation abandoned due to phrenic nerve?
On Wednesday I went into hospital for my fifth ablation since Dec 2016. This might seem like a lot but I have a congenital heart condition. I underwent five open heart surgeries in childhood. So my EP says my heart is quite scarred and irritable from the operations, hence me having recurring issues with
