I am @14lbs heavier than before I was told about my mitral valve regurgitation and had open heart surgery. I usually manage my weight with exercise but as I now have heart failure I can’t do that so I am doing a calorie controlled diet.
After some trial and error I have discovered that thatit is harder for me to lose weight now I have heart failure and am taking more medication. So I started a 1350 calories a day diet last week and am using My Fitness Pal to track calories and nutrients. I am also walking everyday. I’m starting at 11st 7lbs and am 5ft 5ins. I am aiming for @10st 7lbs, which MFP tells me should take a at least a couple of months.
Anyway, if anyone else fancies joining a support thread that would be great 🙂

Well done on the weight loss so far ! As much as I’d love to join the weight loss thread Cus I’m very overweight, I know myself that I won’t stick to it but I wanted to say well done to you , I have lost 15ibs since my heart attack and really the only way to lose weight is calorie deficit, move more eat less. As a chef who’s done a ton of dietary courses , I know that most diets out do not work and some are very harmful to you and your body . In sayin that I’m not saying your diet will be one of those ‘slimming world ‘ cough cough. 😂 best of luck to you i betcha you will do fantastic!! Hugs n love
Thank you! As I said, so far I am aiming around 1350 calories a day and using My Fitness Pal which I have used before. As long as you know the weights of your food the app is really good. I don’t get hungry as I fill up with veggies and fruit and just uave smaller portions of calorie dense stuff. I did Slimming World a long time ago - is that the red and green programme with free foods?
