Understanding Thyroid Test Results
This is the first time I have posted on this site. I have had hypothyroidism for 17 years now and had yearly blood tests. I must admit I have never understood what the result has meant other than the GP saying it's satisfactory. My recent test was Serum TSH level 2.14 mu/1. This means nothing to me and

Questions for Endocrinologist
Today is the day, I am finally seeing an endocrinologist. Any suggestions of things to ask? Trying to be optimistic about the appointment but quietly cautious. Below are the questions I have so far: - FT3 measurement to ensure adequate conversion - Pregnancy monitoring and appropriate FT4 and TSH levels

Vitamin D and AF
This is from Chat GPT, what do you think? fact checked on google and other sites. Vitamin D has been studied extensively for its potential impact on heart health, particularly its relationship with atrial fibrillation (AF). The findings are somewhat mixed, but several key points emerge from recent

Supplements or vitamins for egg quality
Does anyone have any supplements or vitamins etc that you could recommend before doing an egg collection? I have done two egg collection already, 7 and 9 eggs collected, 7 got to five days and 3 made it through pga testing. Three transfers and one successful 🙌 However I am now out of eggs and at 41

Should I see an endocrinologist ?and if so can anyone recommend a good one I'm ased in South wales but willing to travel.
Hi allSo I've been publishing my results for many weeks now and have had fantastic advice from this page. Following on from my private blood test which I've attached, I booked to see a Gp but I tried a different one as I've been seeing the same one for 18 months. Well I feel absolutely deflated. I've

Post-private GP update
Evening. A few people asked me to post an update following on from my visit to a private GP today. Well, it certainly wasn’t what I’d expected, which is to say I hadn’t expected much to happen other than another another blood test being needed and possibly a plan of action. What actually happened

Has anyone had improved thyroid labs or reduced their thyroid medication, after optimising their ferritin, B12, folate, or vitamin D?
I'm currently on a bit of a mission to try and get my ferritin, B12, folate and vitamin D to optimal levels. I'd love to hear anyone's stories or experiences of getting these nutrients up, and then finding their TSH, T4 and T3 levels improve and/or they have to reduce their thyroid medication. It would

T3 clearing the body
Hello Thanks to all who help on this list. Sorry I can't offer more help, still , it seems, in some post Covid state. I tried to look through past posts to see how long T3 takes to leave the system. I think it was recommended not to take for 8 hours before a blood test. I'm going to get some

Heart, B12, Deficiency, Pernicious Anemia, EGD Test, Tissue Samples, family risk
In the past I had an EGD, but NO tissue samples were taken. I have had B12 deficiency and prescription B12 shots for about 20 years. (I was falling, once flew into a summersault in the middle of a paved road, ankles were giving out, I was bumping into walls and super fatigued, etc.) When I was diagnosed

“Vitamin-B12 deficiency" with the appropriate qualification
While searching via Google Scholar I stumbled across an article from 1956, "Cerebral Manifestations of Vitamin-B12 Deficiency*", from the British Medical Journal. It was scanned as an image, and thus available online. Especially given the date of publication (1956), I thought the opening was noteworthy

Necessary cofactors and dosages for Vitamin b12 injections to work
Can anyone inform me as to all the necessary cofactors and dosages that need to be taken to ensure Vitamin b12 injections work. I have the MTHFR gene and slow COMT so is folic acid a bad idea?

warning re gastroscopy and gastrografin for ME/CFS sufferers . Plus neuropathy ?
I saw a very nice colorectal surgeon who arranged a CT colonography - as I thought this would be physically less demanding than a full colonoscopy. Two days after the scan I spent the whole day throwing up violently. You can get a ‘rare’ delayed reaction to Gastrografin, the iodine contrast medium.

Elderly mum exhausted, overweight, unmotivated, yellow tinge skin on sides of face
Hello, I'm really struggling trying to get the GP to sort my mum out. She's nearly 88yrs old and in the last few years has put on an excessive amount of weight, she was a size 12, now she is almost a 20! She is absolutely exhausted, just says she has no energy at all and barely gets dressed each day

Latest blood tests
Hi everyone, I posted a while ago about getting all my underactive thyroid symptoms back, joint pains, fatigue, anxiety and others. I’d had test results saying my TSH was low, but the dr was saying that it was satisfactory. I managed to speak to another dr and she ordered full blood tests. My results
