Needing reassurance
I had a mini-stroke on Monday with no lasting effects. My problem is i am now scared to death of another one. I am staying in bed just waiting for something to happen. I received excellent treatment at the ER and many tests were run. I am waiting to have a special heart cath done to check for "bubbles

Pvcs all day and chest discomfort
Hi I am a 50yr old female and have had svt and ectopic beats for the last almost thirty years. My ectopic beats are all day every day and are caused by changes in air for example the wind outside windows that are open and steam from a pan or kettle. I have found them worse now than they have ever been

Cocktail of drugs
Just starting taking digoxin along with bisoprolol and perindopril which I was already taking, following my heart going into AF a couple of days ago. I had cardioversion approx 20 months ago. Anyone else taking this cocktail of medicines?

Dilemma with medication
I have just visited a rheumatologist who has put me back on 5mg of prednisolone, to taper 1 mg every 6 weeks. This is after my doctor tapered me too quickly from 15mg to zero within 7 months. The PMR pain is back and I was reluctant to go back on prednisolone as I have had awful side effects (the GP

PVCs a way to stop them, I find.
I have discovered that when they start, if I stretch my arms up for about 10 seconds above my head (as you do when waking up in the morning, a good yawn and stretch), they quickly subside to normal rythm, If they return I do the same again. You can watch on a pulseoximeter - it goes from 39 - 70

Thoughts on Dr. Malcolm Kendrick?
I am new to this site, a retired Canadian nurse with high blood pressure and frequent PVC issues. I have read all of the British GP Dr. Kendrick’s books, and am curious about what sense others may have of his opinions. I know he has been vehemently dismissed by the medical establishment as anti big

Newly diagnosed
Hi everyone I've just been diagnosed with Afib following a 24 hour Holter monitor I had done in early December last year. The results only came back last week. Actually, the cardiologist's letter says the trace showed 1. Paroxysmal Afib 2. Atrial flutter 3. 4 short runs of VT which the cardiologist

Lip biopsy
I would pose this question on the Sjogren’s forums but have not had much luck getting replies there and know many of you will have had this procedure done as part of your AI journeys, so hope you don’t mind if I pose it here. That’s a Louis Theroux documentary we need to see: AI journeys. My ENT doc

Sleepless night.
Sleepless night. Hi everyone had 3 HA last year and one stent fitted in September. My Angina is under control but my LV hasnt improved with my meds. My Cardiologist has suggested a defibrillator be fitted so I am now waiting to hear from that Consultant. However last night was awful regarding my breathing

Pacemaker advice
I've been offered a pacemaker after having very slow and high heartbeats and a recent holter confirmed heart pauses and PVCS borderline over 10% of daily 100.000 bpm. I know lots of you have pacemakers Can you give me advice on the pros and cons.. Thanks Janet

Kardia vs. Boots Blood pressure Monitor.
Kardia vs. Boots Blood pressure Monitor. A bit confused here - my Kardia keeps telling me I'm in 'Possible Atrial Fibrillation' recording heart rates above 100bpm whereas my Boots Blood Pressure monitor tells me my heart rate is under 100bpm. I suffer from ectopic beats but the simple a tried method

Asking for a friend -
Good afternoon everyone. I wondered if anyone could recommend an EP in the Deeside/north Wales area. I am trying to help out a friend who is too shy to come on here and ask herself. Diagnosed AFIB and I believe a flutter. But been waiting 8 months to see a cardiologist, so she doesn't really know

Melatonin can induce arrhythmia!
ARTICLE
: "Sleep Medications Containing Melatonin can Potentially Induce Ventricular Arrhythmias in Structurally Normal Hearts: A 2-Patient Report" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/labs/pmc/articles/PMC5642341/ Yikes! As I had reported earlier, I seemed to have miraculously ended my afib inadvertently

Update on Cryoablation 3 weeks ago.
After being extremely nervous about the ablation I finally had it done and it really wasn't that big a deal. I was totally knocked out so do not remember anything and felt fine when I woke up. The next day I noticed my neck and chest/stomach area felt just a little sore, almost like I did too many sit-ups

Nightly Afib Now
I now get afib episode almost nightly, anytime from late evening through to early morning, always, always after eating in the evenings…… rest and digest are my triggers. I’m on 50mg Flecainide split as 25mg in the morning and 25mg in the evening. I also have 50 to 100mg as a pill in pocket to restore

Pacemaker for AFib
My Drug-resistant Symptomatic Paroxysmal Atrial fibrillation cannot be treated with catheter ablation, so I was recommended to get a dual-chamber Medtronic Azure XT pacemaker for treatment of AFib. Does anybody have experience with this PM?

Learning all the time
Hi All, As a relative newbie I have found this site so helpful in learning about AF but I do think it would be great to have a glossary of abbreviations for new members. SVT, PIP, CHAD etc were all alien to me although I now know what they stand for from posts where members clarify the meanings. Im
