Smoked with Asthma, Duh 🤦🏻♂️Did you?
I recognised this but a few puffs of
Ventolin
& felt I could get away with it as long as I was only a social smoker. I had friends with worse asthma that smoked more than me. The thing is they got married and sensible younger, I continued into my early 30’s.

I am powerless
I have to take
ventolin
2-4 times a day. I have shortness of breath and my chest is wheezing. Two days ago I had a meeting with a consultant and he said that he couldn't write anything new for me. Are there really no other inhalers left?😭😭😭

Severe Asthma & Exercise
No
Ventolin
needed. Completed my 30 minute workout, it was hard but I didn’t go full pelt. A few hours later, I felt dreadful: felt weak, my chest felt heavy, generally unwell. I woke up this morning still feeling the same.

Update on appointment with consultant at severe asthma clinic
Without taking ages to go through my notes to count how many times I’d had to take
ventolin
. So Im not sure how accurate or useful the result of that was! Anyway he’s referring me to ENT, I’m not sure what will happen there so any ideas welcome.

Confused
He also said not to call 999 straight away if 10 puffs of
Ventolin
doesn't work and I'm in red? Is this okay? I feel like he doesn't believe me as I have mental health issues because apparently you shouldn't have asthma attacks on oral steroids.

Mum and Ongoing cough and breathlessness..
Consultant tried her on Erdosteine instead of Carbosteine and gave her Fostair inhaler instead of
ventolin
(?) She had a really good run over the summer ( not literally) and was able to dead head flowers, drink gin in the sun and had some energy.

Intense Stabbing in centre of chest
I was SOB and after the pains my chest did tighten and normal
ventolin
required, but definitely not me fighting for breath as I do during a “normal” attack! All very strange, oh an my peak flow was better than usual?

Prednisone
I've never been on it for my asthma, but whilst I've only been on it a couple of days I was able to not use
Ventolin
today. Is that normal for it to work that quick? Or was today just a "good" day (still symptomatic, but didn't really go yellow today!).

When I'm tight and coughing relentlessly I find using a neb easier than my
Ventolin
through a spacer. I think this is making a difference. Thank you all so much for your support and advice. x

Blue inhalers
HI I have been using the blue
Ventolin
inhaler for a while. Last time I collected my prescription the inhaler was smaller. It has "Ivax" on the plastic dispenser. I find that when I inhale it triggers a cough and I cannot get the dose from the cannister.

I’ve used my
ventolin
and it was better for a minute or two but now it’s difficult to breathe again. My peak flow I’snt too bad. It’s about 400.

Medication advice please
triggers seems to be my Seretide 250 , 2 puffs a day ( I’m not suggesting this could cause anyone else problems or that anyone would stop taking it ) my asthma nurse was very defensive for some reason and wouldn’t prescribe anything else 🤷🏻♀️ At the moment I’m taking montelukast daily and using my

Long-term asthma recovery queries
My asthma nurse has had me taking my
ventolin
inhaler half an hour before walking, to open the airways up, and I've been gradually walking more and more.

I'm on Fostair 200/6 2 puffs twice a day and 2 additional puffs if needed,
Ventolin
and Montelukast for my Asthma, and she also added something called Carbocisteine. Has anyone been on that? I'm also on a lot of other medications, including anti histamines and mast cell stabilisers.

Yellow Zone
I'm currently taking Fostair 200/6 2 puffs twice a day and an additional 2 puffs as needed, Montelukast,
Ventolin
, a bunch of antihistamines (also carry Epi-Pens), steroid nasal spray (Nasonex) and will be starting Carbocisteine on Monday. I do daily nasal rinses as well.
