Clarithromycin
I recently have been given Sotalol ,a beta blocker, to take for a recently diagnosed heart arrythmia. A recent chest infection and G.P gave me clarithromycin. I queried it as label said they do not mix. . She insisted it was fine. Took it but my cardiologist was not pleased. Any body else any experience

Recurrent croup and asthma
My sons aged 5 and 7 have suffered from severe recurrent croup since being babies with regular hospital admissions and dexamethasone steroid treatment. They haven't had a proper diagnosis of asthma however they are both on clenil and ventolin which I have no idea if the clenil is actually working because

GP changed meds without telling me
So, today I go to pick up my repeats from the pharmacy and when I check my bag there's an unusual box in there, Flutiform, instead of my usual Seretide. When I went to my Doctors reception to ask why my prescription has changed to a different drug combination, she explained that it had been done because

I can't cope with this much more!
Evening all, I hope everyone is ok. I have just been discharged from hospital, and I'm struggling again (been to acute medicine clinic today for nebs). I've lost count of the number of admissions now but I have just had enough, of bouncing in and out of hospital, of not being able to work...not being

police custody access to reliever inhalers
As first aid trainer for the Police I have always stressed the importance of taking asthma attacks very, very seriously. In the past our custody blocks have had ventolin inhalers stored safely for any prisoner to use if they asked for it We have many many many asthmatic coming through. We now have a

I get anxiety and panic attacks for no reason, tonight I am worse as I have a cold and feel my breathing is laboured. Help
Had a puff of ventolin seems to have helped, and put a steam machine on in bedroom. Fed up with my panic, married 4 kids, own home, good job what's wrong with me?

HI, I'm an independent scriptwriter researching for a movie where the hero’s seven year old daughter suffers with SEVERE asthma. I wondered if someone would be kind enough to help and ensure things are true to life and factual. So, If a seven year old girl had a severe form of asthma would (or could

My lungs are an enigma
Today I ran for only the third time since August. During both last week's run and the run preceding that, I used my Ventolin prior to and during my run. My lungs managed ok during the run, but afterwards threw a big tantrum which lasted 2 or 3 days each time. After advice from you lovely people who

Palpitations with Atrovent/Spiriva vs Ventolin
So - not looking for medical advice, more personal experience. My cons had me taking Atrovent for preference over Ventolin; he was considering Spiriva if I am still not controlled after this pred course of 4 weeks. Then when I was admitted a few weeks ago the resp reg decided to start Spiriva anyway

Calling all asthmatics
I was wondering if any of you other asthmatics have the same problem as me: lungs are fine when I'm running, but as soon as I stop they seem to go into shock and take 48+ hours to stop wheezing, rattling and generally misbehaving. I ran on Tuesday evening for the first time in over a month and fully
