Thanks so much for the advice. I am not familiar with generic ones - do I just ask?

Thanks again. My GP Surgery is no less than an hour's wait and usually more and, aggravatingly, because I use my ventolin infrequently, so the intervals between prescriptions are long, I would need to see the GP for an appointment. It's a drudgery I would happily pay more to avoid!

Why do you need to see your GP if you just need ventolin,, Phone them and explain you just need a new ventolin,,i,m sure they will gwt you one,,thats all i ever do,,xx

I rarely use it and so there are long intervals between prescription which triggers an appointment (minimum waiting time at surgery over an hour! plus appt probably a week away and I've lost my inhaler so like to have one around just in case)

I use Ventolin, have for a real long time. I am on maintenance, I don't need one daily, have in the past and know that I may again. Well either maintenance or regular it has always been a big part of my life and it works very well. Where would I be without it? I ordered it from online.

They say it takes 1 week, but mine came a little sooner.

If you're in the UK you can buy ventolin inhalers here for a good price without a prior script if you're approved by their easy online medical consultation trustrxtabs.com

hope this helps

I always have a spare. Keep one ahead of the one I am using so when I finish one I start the next and then put a repeat prescription into the GP.

Superdrug sell 2 x Ventolin for £24 and 2 x generic for £19, you have to complete a short questionnaire for the pharmacist to ensure that they are appropriate for you.

Do you know if you can do this in the pharmacy or is it only online?

Hi,

I tried to get a Ventolin inhaler from the Pharnacy attatched to my local Asda, it was a Sunday and i was worried i didn't have enough to get me through until i could see my GP.You would have thought i was asking for crack coccaine the way they treated. They asked me a load of questions regarding my useage etc and then refused to give me it ! I was disgusted and ive never been back

I bought one in spain and it was not very much but was unaware you can buy then here. You learn something every day :)

So, can you also buy the IVAX Salamol OTC? I have difficulty pressing the normal ones down due to RA.

I can get salbutamol inhaler or liquid for my nebuliser simply by phoning my drugs supplier who checks my repeat script at doctors however the drug for my nebuliser I only use if I have an episode and that was only after a bit of an argument with my doc who says at my stage of C O P D if I need the nebuliser I should be heading to hospital. I have been out of hospital 2 weeks now and feeling well seems the seretide helps further appointments next week at the C O P D clinic
