I'm currently diagnosed as psoriatric Arthritis, although been severe TA since 2005, I recently had a Pre Op assessment to have a TKR on my left knee, had right one done August 2015.On results Raigmore Hospital decided I was Aneamic got started on a 8 week course due to finish on the 18 th April yippee rotton stuff these tablets, anyhow they will do bloods again make sure Iron levels improving hopefully. Why would iron tabs affect my breathing my SATs is 86% they upped my pulmicort inhaler to double does twice daily not helping yet that was 3 weeks ago using more of my ventolin. Is it normal to have aneamia cause all the other problems never been Aneamic before. I'm 57.so I'm no spring chicken I do gave loads of other illnesses but medication has not interacted with each other. I'm on Benapali, they stopped my methotrexate 2years ago not good for my liver and I don't drink. Though I have NASH, AND ENLARGED SPLEEN.

Being anaemic probably means there isn't enough Oxygen in your blood...hence it would affect your breathing.

Norwegian, Yes Many of us have anaemia as a complication of the severe long-standing inflammation going on in our bodies. The disease just saps the bone marrow's ability to build blood-cells. You are not necessarily, and I repeat, NOT NECESSARILY deficient in iron! Do not take iron unless you have conclusive evidence of iron-deficiency anaemia. If you take iron when you are not short of it, it increases the risk of a heart attack. This was proven by American and Japanese research twenty years ago.

Good luck.
