Breathing problems "in my head" - any advice?
Hi everyone, Just wanted to see if anyone has advice here as before when I've posted I got some pretty good advice and to be honest I'm out of ideas right now. Was recently told I don't have asthma, having been told by GP 3 years ago that's what I have. It was a resp doctor who told me it wasn't asthma

I have had a chronic cough for a year. I visited my GP in November, and she ordered a chest xray and spirometry test, both normal. She prescribed ventolin, no effect. Then we tried medication for acid reflux and post nasel drip, no effect. My GP this week said that's it nothing else that can be done

Finally Managed to see the GP
So i finally managed to see the GP yesterday, with regards to the SOB issues and inhalers not helping, and of course that magic referral to Respiratory. He can't see why the ventolin isn't helping with breathlessness, so prescribed me another, but changed my steroid inhaler to Spiriva. No referral to

Has anyone seen GMB?
I've just been watching Good Morning Britain and there was a really sad story of a little girl who was sent home by her GP because she was a few minutes late to an emergency appointment and she died. It's ridiculous she was obviously needing to be seen A couple of weeks ago I went to the GP after

Disturbed night
I had a dreadful night last night, chest kept tightening i was breathless, so uncomfortable couldnt sleep. I’ve been taking spiriva for about a month but dont seem any better, and its difficult to stay calm so then my pulse races. I used my ventolin inhaler every hour which only helped a little. I thought

Does anyone else not use their actual best Peak Flow?
I lost my peak flow from years ago (which I only know was well above predicted because the nurse erroneously told me I didn't have asthma). So, at my new surgery I stopped avoiding reviews and my PEF was 420, though I'd taken near maximum ventolin. Anyway, a few weeks later I scored 440 but none of my

There's no point seeing the GP yet as I know if be told my chest is clear, peak flow is fine (I have a high PB) , but i wondered

Wondering what age people on here were when they were diagnosed with Asthma? Also, did anyone develop Asthma as a direct result from smoking
I would be really grateful to hear everyone’s comments to my question. I’m 41 and have recently been very wheezy, mainly at night and in the mornings. Very breathless with some mild chest and back aching. I’ve been prescribed the steroid and ventolin inhalers. Waiting for further tests to confirm I have

Glaxo Wellcome UK has recalled 3 lots of inhalers
If you live with asthma and use inhalers, you need your inhaler to work as it should. We want you to know that Glaxo Wellcome UK has recalled 3 lots of inhalers in the UK because a few of them may not deliver the full number of doses. The medicine in the inhalers has not been affected. So don’t

Guidance for colleagues - brittle asthma
Hi all, I have had awful problems with my asthma since Christmas. I have had two A&E admissions as well as several big attacks that I've just about controlled at home. I saw the consultant privately on Wednesday last week as my GP was too nervous to change any meds/give steroids(!). The consultant,

A & E Care Admission or not admission?
Can anyone answer this question are these following two admissions or not? . I have been to to 3 times twice in November and once last month. First time no wrist bands, second time wrist bands, third time no wrist bands but was definitely admitted as release with asthma plan. Two on a Sunday and one

Can Flu Trigger an Asthma Attack?
Good morning. I have had a nasty case of a virus, probably flu. Yesterday, I started to get that spasmodic coughing that I get from cough variant asthma. Finally, I started to (maybe) put two and two together and I reached for my Ventolin inhaler. The cough eased for about an hour. Question: Could
