Cough: Cold or asthma?
I caught a cold about a week and half ago. It's pretty much done now, except for a cough that seems to be worse. Everyone else I spread it to (at work, whoops) has a milder cough than mine. My PEF scores vary between good (twice this week) and just into the amber zone, so completely disproportionate

Week 7 First Run Done
I did my first week 7 run and found it easier. Maybe my body is adapting, or it was the taking Ventolin while on the warm up walk before staring, or just a good day with low allergens or whatever. I tried to slow up at the start and was faster in the third km and slowest in the first. 3.6km total, 8.6

Chest tightness hard to breathe
Has anyone else found it hard to catch a breath because of chest tightness? I've never had any trouble breathing before except when I go out in the freezing weather up north. Then it's like I feel a cold halt in my breath but now I've been having trouble even in the heat. My doc has had to give me

Fvc is 79% and am 21 years old
I finally adhered to the advice that was given about my uncontrolled asthma. I did a lung function test and my fvc is 79% compared to when I did it 6 months ago when it was 77%. I am glad it improved but I heard that the normal result is 80% for healthy patients. The doctor said I had airflow obstruction

React Asthma review
Had a really good REACT Asthma review today... the nure was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful apparently I breathe in too hard for liquid inhalers but perfect for powder ones... So my options where learn to breathe in gentler or swap ventolin to a powder She's made lots of recommendations for the gp

Triggers in non-allergic asthma
So, I'm pretty sure I have non-allergic asthma given I can never muster enough IgE for Xolair and also kept getting negative allergy tests. Most of my triggers I would consider non-allergic - weather-related, smoke, scents and sprays, viruses etc - things which tend to act directly on the airway rather

Week Six Complete but struggling with Asthma. Anyone else?
I’ve been reading posts here and there but decided to post today after completing week six and my first 25 minute run. I feel like I’m legitimately running now and can do 10 minutes easy which is amazing. However beyond 10 minutes and my asthma kicks in and my chest hurts. I had the worst attack since

Ventolin inhalers
I have copd severe. And have always had the powder version. Never found it helped. Doctor says it does and told me to take it 4 times a day. After been trying the trimbow. I couldn't believe how fast the bronchodialaters worked. And they are supposed to be the long acting. Not emergency reliever. So

Toxic Singulair
I started Singulair 8 days ago and on the third day I started headaches, slow heart rate, fatigue, imsomnia, depression and horrible, vivid nightmares when I could finally sleep. I felt like I was walking in mud. Also I have big bruises on my arms and haven't seen anything like them ever. I stuck with

Feeling better, but peek flow still low
Hi all, after many years of well controlled symptoms on seretide recently I had been really struggling with 2 hospital trips. My asthma nurse suggested swapping to fostair 100/6, but that I shouldn't need my ventolin anymore and I should go back to the GP if I still have symptoms after 5 days. I feel

Skipping meds
Hello, everybody. From everything I've read here, I think I'm a pretty typical COPD patient, with moderate emphysema/asthma. Maybe even mild/moderate. Which is to say that sometimes I feel OK and sometimes I feel quit lousy. Just a couple of months ago I was feeling so poorly that I asked my GP for steroids

Anyone else get swollen left side of torso and mucus from that side only, especially at night time?
I've had asthma for years but awhile ago my GP at the time stopped all my medication after I experienced a period where my heart beat increased for no reason. After this I never was prescribed a complete dose of medication again and developed more breathing symptoms like shortness of breath, especially

How to tactfully put across "no wheeze can still = asthma"
I'm seeing the asthma nurse tonorrow after seeing the GP the other week for an asthma exacerbation. She decided that due to the fact I wasn't wheezing and my sats were 100%, I didn't need oral steroids and that increasing my preventer would be enough. Despite this increase, my symptoms are still the

Supermarket pharmacists will be selling ventolin soon this should have happened years ago it would have saved a lot of people struggling to get meds when needed urgently.

Has anybody fond Formoterol Oxis etc to be better with less reflux or indigestion?
I'm trying to find a reliever that is less of a problem for reflux and wondered how if anyone has has found formoterol to be better? I have tried the combination Seretide, Ventolin and Serevent and they all give me really bad reflux. I'm on a PPI etc but it only makes it just about bearable.
