B12 only half the battle -- and an odd symptom
Was finally sent to a hematologist who was ON this - she caught the low ferritin and was extremely concerned about it and convinced me to do
venofer
infusions. She also sent me to an allergist to be able to tolerate the B12 shots.

Monofer is making me feel crap
Hi, I had an iron infusion 10 days ago as I had Feratin at 10 and low iron transfusions. I am sure in long run it will help me but Monofer is making my life bit of hell. Not slept one night in the past 10 days without waking up in the middle of the night. My sleep quality has been crap. (a) has anyone

Newly diagnosed possible Autoimmune gastritis and B12 deficiency
I've recently started B12 injections under the care of a private doctor. He gave my first injection and I'm doing self injections at home (1mg hydroxocobalamin). My B12 was at 292 so a little above the NHS range but clearly deficient. I initially saw him to arrange an iron infusion for iron deficiency

Iron Infusion (Venofer) and Ricormon - to raise hemoglobin level (for Anemia)- Can they damage the kidney function?
I read that
Venofer
for treating anemia (now hemoglobin 10.5 following many treatment) can harm the kidney. I am also taking weekly Recormon for raising the hemoglobin. Anyone has any similar experience?

My doctor has finally prescribed me 5 iron infusions of
Venofer
for my RLS, each a week apart. I had my first one yesterday. Does anyone have experience with this and how soon they started to notice relief?

ANEMIA
The bowel symptoms are manageable however I am left with a cycle of debilitating anemia requiring iron infusions (
venofer
). My doctor feels that I may be the small majority that has this forever. I have been referred now to hematology. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Has anyone reacted badly to iron infusions?
Hi everyone. I hope you are all as well as possible. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of reactions to iron infusions? I've had iron infused before but this time I've had abdominal pain and cramps although I did manage to get out and do few errands ...I thought it was possibly due to the vitamin

Newly diagnosed: thoughts please?
I had an infusion (
venofer
) in 2013 in Australia. The private doctor did say she could refer me for one here. Have had negative coeliac test but suspect I should cut out gluten anyway. Am also perimenopausal, but not taking HRT yet. Many thanks.

Thiamine deficiency after vsg
I have also been diagnosed with chronic iron deficiency anemia and receive monthly infusions of
venofer
. Be advised that the Diagnosis for Wernickes is no longer reserved for alcoholism. There has been an increase in VSG patients being diagnosed.
