my wife diagnose ITP 2 years back after taking DELTACORTAL for one year we stoped this as that had lots of side effects for one year all the blood values were normal only the platelet count was 20-30

problem started 8 months back when all the values get down our hemotolgist gave some medication venofer drips for 2 weeks after that the blood values were bit better but less then the normal values the good thing platelets value was 60 first time in 2 years

the thing we are worring about is the WBC count is 2.1 since 8 months and it doesn't increased

Now dr. give Neoral 100mg/day for 2 weeks and then 50mg/day for one week after that we will have lab tests if the WBC count increases then its good otherwise dr said to plan for bonemarrow

we really dont want to go through bonemarrow

anyone can share same experience and help pls

No no, its much needed at this point. You dont want wrong diagnosis and unwanted prescriptions right. So better to get her done with the test and it's a big sigh of relief if the production look fine. Good luck to you both.!!

The bone marrow test is no problem, only a little uncomfortable, and is over quickly.

Hello Akhurram,

Do not worry about the bone marrow test. It is not painful and it is a relatively short procedure. I agree with what has been said; the haematologist needs to establish an accurate diagnosis.

Best Wishes.

The doctors have little 'for sure' help for you right now. If you can live with some quality of life as you are now, I would do exactly that. Waiting for science to catch up to your problem might take a year or two. Also, your body might find a way to fix itself over a two year period. If you have no quality of life at all, you need to take your chances with questionable medical procedures.

The bone marrow test is no big deal. I have them put me out. I have no anxiety about it that way. You have to find out what’s wrong. Good luck to you.

The condition I suffer from is aplastic anemia (all blood counts are low as my bone marrow has quit working). Has she had a bone marrow biopsy done to rule out other conditions?

Not what you're looking for?
