I see this is an old post but I will reply anyways. I am currently taking IV iron infusions (Venofer). Have done two drips already out of five scheduled. The side effects are awful. Feeling pretty discouraged currently. Also frustrated that they are supposed to monitor iron/ferritin while on the medication (says so right on the official handout from hospital), and they don’t, so you really have no idea if it’s raising your levels or not. I realize it takes awhile to show improvement in your labs but it is still frustrating.
