I had a mechanical valve replacement 10 years ago and I’ve recently discovered that I have a dilated aortic root. In my last checkup, this has now been added to with low left ventricular systolic function. It’s a few months before I see my consultant again.
Does anyone have any advice on what exercise I can safely do? I’ve tended to use my Peloton bike, but have recently found that it is taking longer to recover.

Ultimately this is a question for your cardiologist, but I work on the principle I exercise as hard has my heart lets me, without causing a lengthy reaction. If that means walking only (such as when I have a virus), so be it.
I’ve had left side heart failure for 4 years and am used to listening to what my heart tells me. I imagine after 10 years you’re the same.
