I had valve replacement in June of this year. Things have pretty much healed except that I am concerned about my heart rate which st rest is usually around 85 which I wonder is a bit high? I am on 1.25 bisoprolol. At night when trying to sleep I can feel my heart racing. Anyone else have a high heart rate ?

High heart rate
If you feel it is too high or it's also giving you symptoms don't put it off , go to see your GP or call the cardiac helpline number you have or BHF helpline to get advice. It could just mean that you need a little dose increase , or it could be your " New Normal" and knowing that will give you peace of mind and help you to keep stress free ( the best thing for keeping healthy).
Take care , Bee
Mine was mid-80s immediately after surgery. It has now come down to mid-60s in the middle of the day, rising to low-to-mid-70s in the evening (presumably as the bisoprolol wears off -- I'm on the same 1.25mg dosage). I'm approaching 4 months post-surgery.
Hi yes to a lot of what you are experiencing I'd had value replaced in march I still have a very unpredictable heart rate IAM still at risk of heart attack night day and yes I can hear my heart pounding away day and night it all very normal so you are not alone
Hi.I had a mitral valve repair last March. Pre-op my heart rate was 65, post-op 85 and is still 85, 10 months on, not on any meds as my blood pressure on the slightly low side. Obviously question your new heart rate but reckon it might be your new normal
Had mitral valve repair 11months ago. Had similar issue but resting heart rate was about 120. Was told this is fairly normal for up to two years after valve op. They played with Bisoprolol and were happy once it was 75-85 at rest.
I wouldn't call that high- that's my normal.
