I had an aortic valve replacement on 10/31/24 and would like to talk with others who had the same procedure because I'm scared and afraid to move.

Dear Catmom - my husband had same in August. Do what you can and accept all help offered. We found it took lot longer to recover than we were told. Three months after he is much better but some way to go. All the best
I had the same op in June, I promise you it gets better. It's still early days for you. Just take things easy, don't rush, but keep walking, I was frightened to walk outside at first in case I felt ill or something, but that's normal anxiety, I walked with a very patient friend.
Thank you very much keep talking to me here and there. I'm just scared and trying to figure out what post I feel what you know I was born with the other heart and it was been there forever but now I don't know how to act it's only been for weeks. I feel a little dizzy here and there and like everything drains out on me but I checked my blood pressure and option they're okay it just scares the s*** out of me I hope it gets better thank you for answering me
Hi. My wife had Aortic valve and Aorta replacement in November 2023. She now is back to her former self, but this takes time and only happened as a result of "getting out there". She is now targeting 10000 steps per day and is fully active. As you had valve replacement just a month ago, you are in the early stages of your recovery, but I would say get out there, walk whenever you can and help the recovery. You wont break your new valve!
We both wish you steady recovery.....a year on, you will be amazed at how far you have come.
