Cancer Doctor Recommends Xofigo (Radium 223) Because PSA is Rising Again After 10 Months of ADT with Firmagon and Zytiga
My PSA started rising again 2 months ago. It is now at 37. The highest PSA was 160 when this all started about a year ago. Testosterone is still negligible. Recent bone scan shows some improvement in old bone metastases but a couple of new ones just popped up. The VA oncologist is scheduling me for

Hello all!
2 full rounds of IVF, First round got 1 embyro, second got 3 (so we've tried 3 embryos overall and have 1 left). Last embryo and last on NHS left to go. Had both fallopian tubes removed at start of round 1, also discovered AMH is lowish (6.3 pmol/l). Just discovered I have Hashimotos (an autoimmune

Low resting HR on Bisoprolol
A quick question please? I’m on a low dose of Bisoprolol at 1.25mg daily, my resting heart rate is now sub 50 BPM and regularly at 42 to 45BPM. When in Afib it sits around the 90 to 100BPM mark which although uncomfortable is just about tolerable until I revert back to NSR which these days is anywhere

Blood calcium level testing?
Having just read various posts about knee troubles, some mention blood calcium levels found to be too high, causing pseudogout. I have had knee troubles for a couple of years now, both stiff and painful and one swells up and has been drained several times and I’ve been put on Sulfasalazine to try and

Swollen Knees Synovitis Update
In June I asked for advice regarding if stiff and swollen knees were a part of my PMR. I received some good advice which has helped, i.e check calcium intake which I did, with a blood test and was told by GP to stop taking calcium supplement as my levels were too high. Soon after stopping, the stiffness

Rheumy does not believe vitamin K is useful
Just got back from my first rheumy appointment. I grilled him about all sorts if things including should I take Vitamin K with my calcium. He said there is no evidence to suggest that it has any use as there have been no "blind clinical trials". I told him I had read it on this forum and he said "people

AF meds and Valium
Hi all, don't remember asking this first because I'm super worry but, please, anybody has been prescribed
Valium
when on Digoxin, Flecainide, Sotalol? It appears to relax me and have better sleep, and I only have it some time. I don't think it affects me as it does to others.

Strong Finger Nails
Since January 2019 I have been eating a plain organic yogurt every day to combat calcium deterioration. Have recently noticed that my nails are stronger than they have ever been. Just hope my bones are too. Wondering if anyone else has noticed the same improvement??

Supplements whilst on Preds
I have looked in the FAQ’s but is there a simple post with the information regarding supplements to take whilst on Preds? If not can someone with more knowledge than me create one please? I’m looking for something that, in one place, lists the suggested supplements e.g. Calcium, Vitamin D etc, the best

I was diagnosed with afib only one time during a routine checkup. It was never found again. I even bought an afib detector that I test myself 3x a day. I have never had any symptoms. With that said, I realize afib is a progressive type of issue. In view that I have great cholesterol numbers and nothing

Why do you need cholesterol?
This was copied from an email I got so don’t go shooting the messenger if you don’t agree :). “I have been trying for years, decades actually, to raise my cholesterol. Finally after a more significant (call it strict if you like) change in diet, it’s happening and that’s a good thing. You see, low cholesterol

Total thyroidectomy
Hi After suffering from breathlessness for a few months, I underwent various tests in April 2021 to try and find the cause. During a lung CT to see if I had any blood clots, I was advised that my thyroid was very large, not in the right location, and multi-nodular and could be the cause of the breathing

Hi all. Well 4 1/2 years after my bypass surgery I found myself with similar angina pains although things went slightly differently this time. At first I think I was in denial about the pain 'was it imagined' 'was it indigestion'? In the end I could ignore it no longer so last Monday (18th) I phoned

Stopping bisoprolol
After being on 1.25 mg for over a year I could function really well, a bit tired ,but nothing too bad. When I was diagnosed PAF in April my dose was upped to 2.5 mg. my world just stopped. Nodding off to sleep when I had only been out of bed for few hours, feeling exhausted ALL the time. Fuzzy
