should you take supplements at the same time as the Pred dose?
I recently read not to take calcium supplements at the same time as my morning pred dose, are there any other wisdoms about taking Vit D, potassium etc at the same time as pred ? or is it better to not take anything else at the same time? thanks

5 year diagnosis anniversary!
I just passed my 5 years diagnosis anniversary, and I’m happy to report that my treatment has been durable and my PSA remains < 0.01. At diagnosis, I had a PSA of 211, an alk phos above 900, multiple Mets, a Gleason of 9 (5+4), and a wonky, non-hereditary PTEN gene. My treatment from day 1 has been

What should your resting heart rate be?
From the podcast from Dr. John Day (https://drjohnday.com) , with the title:
"What Should Your Resting Heart Rate Be?

Does anyone take Vit K2 to help with bones?
I have had a slightly raised calcium level for more than 20 years. Consultant is not perturbed, as it never 'spikes' and is tested regularly. I do not take calcium along with Pred for the above reason. I understand that vit K2 helps to put calcium into bones and not leave it in blood vessels etc. When

are you taking vitamins / supplements, in conjunction with use of a prescription bone treatment?
let me know how it's going, and what you're using, please, thanks ... after all, the main trial for prolia had participants on daily calcium supplement with vitamin D.

How to take Calcium
I had a prostatectomy in 2014 for Gleason (4+3), salvage radiation in 2017, PSMA PET/CT January 2023 followed by Proton SBRT in April this year for mets on T10 and anal lymph node. I have been told to take daily 1000mg Calcium. Looking for guidance on the best type, other needed supplements to take

Update and Feeling Kicked…..
Thank you to everyone who helped me with my last post on this board regarding DNR. I’m relieved to say that my father was released and is possibly back on track to regain some of the weight lost at hospital. Still waiting to hear if it’s lymphoma. As for me I am feeling kinda kicked down this week.

Radium223 has not been a success, is Enzalutamide a good next option?
Stage 4 PCA for last 3 years. Had 6 cycles of Chemo and then Abiraterone for 18+ months (PSA dropped to 0.2 then more recently rose to 58 in June '23 ). Abiraterone eventually stopped working and I was able to join Radium 223 trial. Completed 5 of 6 cycles of Radium 223, then elected to stop since

Newbie, Multiple U3 Parathyroid and Thyroid Nodules, Seizures and other unusual symptoms
Hi, I’m new here but a regular poster on the Pernicious Anemia board as I’ve had PA for a decade now. There’s a history of thyroid issues on my mother’s side and it seems now lymphoma on my father’s side. I’ve been trying to get a diagnosis for seizures that began late 2020 but it’s been difficult

All regular use sublingual opioid medications etc how to protect your teeth.
REGULAR use of sublingual medications, from opioids to
Valium
etc I break mine into tiny pin head size pieces with a pill cutter. I know 200 mcg Temgesic or 2 mg of Buprenorphine looks very small, however I have followed this process for over 3 years now.

pain eating after hiatus hernia repair.
hey everyone, I had surgery to repair a hiatus hernia I had in 2019. I’m grateful I have had no acid reflux since but I get this really bad pain in my left shoulder (kind of up inline with my armpit). I went back to hospital for endoscopy and barium swallow because I regurgitate my food and they found

Radium-223 + Xtandi?
I’ve been on chemo (cabazitaxel + carboplatin) since Jan 2022 and also on Zometa and Lupron. PSA went from 1.3 in Jan 2023 to 11.7 this month. CT and Bone scans show bone mets somewhat stable but with activity, all bone no soft tissue. PET PSMA earlier this year did not show enough tracer activity

atrial, fibrillation, and electrolyte imbalances
hi everybody I have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and my burden seems to vary between zero and 10% over most weeks, according to my Apple Watch. I’ve spent the last hour this morning, looking into evidence for the association between electrolyte imbalance and a true fibrillation, and the situation
