Hi, I’m taking supplements but no conventional meds. I take a suspension containing Vitamins A, D, E, & K plus use a body moisturiser contains magnesium on my stomach.
I decided against the meds due to learning about rebound fractures post treatment and the horrendous side effects. Only time will tell if I made the right decision.
hi! I’m on Denosumab and I was prescribed calcium tablets ever since my bones had gone and after it dropped quite low vitamin D tablets. I started on 3,200 IUs they have now reduced me to 800 IUs permanently.
I had primary hyperparathyroidism which caused osteoporosis. Since my surgery my osteoporosis has reversed to osteopenia. I was taking vit d3, boron, magnesium and vit k2 prior to surgery and continue taking the same but have added a calcium supplement into the mix if i dont get 1200mg from my diet.
I am post primary hyperparathyroidism, and stopped the calcium supplements 6 months ago when my calcium went high again...10.0>. This is the line the Norman Parathyroid Center told me to watch. I take supplements: K2/mk7, Vit D3, boron, silica, strontium citrate, Ubiquinol, Vit E, magnesium glycinate and magtein; bio-identical hormone replacement therapy; to keep inflammation down: quercetin, tart cherry, vit c, ALA and Resterval. I started Tymlos 6 weeks ago, after 7 spine fractures in rapid succession. My severe OP had gone back to Osteopenia...post surgery. Then 5 years post, the damage from tumor started to rear its ugly head....maybe 10 surgeries now....then the fractures. Part of the "key" is our sex hormones...and keeping growth hormone working.
sorry this has happened,
my Mum's MRI showed a fracture t11,
she is having more pain now,
not a good sign.
just what happened when you had further fractures?,
that is tragic,
did dr send you to have more scans?,
and then ... are you confined to bed?
The first one ached for a couple of months before a "hard landing" on a plane...that felt like a knife doing through back. Got it kypho on t7. All was right for two weeks. There was no fall, accident, lifting anything heavy, stretching....I reached for a cup on a lower shelf, felt a snap, then t6 and t8 were fractured. Doc ordered MRIs, as I've learned not to get anything else. T11, T12, and L1 were also fractured. I had noticed that doing my abdominal exercises was very painful a few days prior. Then May 8th, same snap feeling for watering the garden with a hose for 30 minutes, and I could not lie down that night...it had fractured in a different direction. Felt like pieces of shard were hitting me lying on my back and sides, so I slept in a chair for 3 weeks. Scheduling more kypho for the last 4 in the next two weeks. I am slightly fearful of doing anything these days...but refuse to stop having a life. I walk every morning, a mile, I have hiking sticks in case of trouble. I have two braces, and am constantly thinking to keep my back straight, no bending forward. My legs are very strong, so I can squat, lunge down, and have to think about all motions and actions. My surgeon said I have a cascade, meaning one triggered another and another, it can happen. So I'm doing exercises to strengthen the back muscles, eating more protein as well. I refuse to let this define me.
I have a broken skull, double seizure, Jan 2018, irreparable brain damage, using Turmeric black pepper, rather than dispersible aspirin [possible reaction to epilepsy medication,] I have osteoporosis,/ pigeon chest/pectus carinatum originally caused by meningitis when 10 years old, after severe reaction with hormone injection "possible"🙄 PC have found thanks to Hunter Vitamin D3 max strength considerable relief to fragile rib cage structure, I can sleep properly👍 I also have genetic osteoarthritis mainly affecting knees [brother and Uncle both had knee cap "jobs"] I take a shower every morning, long term habit, use Magnesium Joint oil spray on my knees, some relief, but seemingly delaying the inevitable🙄
Hi I take a multi vitamin and vitamin d as normally in Scotland we don't get much sun although at the moment it is far too hot, never happy 😅
i asked Mum's G.P if it would be alright if she took some vitamins - k2, boron, silicon - i should've known that the G.P would say no.
I hate to say it but most GP's do not know enough about what is good and what isn't. xx
