Supplements to reduce glutamate
I was inspired by Widebody's comments on taurine and glycine to look into supplements that reduce glutamate. I found the following on an autism website that I cannot vouch for, but here is the list: (those of us taking gabapentin, pregabalin, horizont are taking medicine that is reducing brain glutamate

Waiting for a Hysterectomy
Hello everyone, I am writing to ask for any advice/support or similar situations. I am 39, F, live in Scotland UK Have been having problems since May 2021 - heavy menstrual bleeding and pain, hadn't had any issues or bleeding for 20+ years on the mini-Pill Degestrel, so it came as a bit of a shock

Looking for advice, yet again, please.
I had an appointment to see my GP today regarding high blood pressure. I have been taking 10mg Ramipril for some time but recently BP has been high and erratic. Apparently, I cannot go to a higher Ramipril dose, therefore, need to change. I’m aware that some BP medication can interfere with RLS, so

The doctors have given him Evion (Vitamin E) and Ursocol 300 which is
Ursodeoxycholic
acid
both twice a day. Does anyone know how long these medicines / vitamins take to work? Can someone of my dad's age improve from this stage of cirrhosis / fibrosis of the liver? Would appreciate any thoughts.

Zymot and PICSI
Hello, I believe this has been asked before but there hasn't been much response so hopefully maybe more might have incite or tips as time as gone by? Do you have experiences using Zymot or PICSI? Or even one thought, using both? Putting the sperm through the Zymot maze and then putting the sperm in

A newbie question about vitamin D3
Before discovering compression fractures due to osteoporosis, I was taking various vitamin supplements. ( this is going to sound like I’m a hypochondriac, but I was trying to stay healthy). I had Garlic tablets, Glucosamine& Chondroitin, vit B, vit D3 and zinc. After my DEXA scan, my old GP put me on

Diarrhoea saga continued
I've had diarrhoea on and off for over a year. It started after breakfast and stopped around lunch time, not every day, but about 3 days a week. It's been slowly getting more frequent. A month or so ago I spoke to the GP who first diagnosed me with PMR/GCA. She tested me for coeliac and cancer, both

Paper on the design of B12 deficiency treatment protocols
This might be one of the most fascinating papers I've read on B12 deficiency and treatment, with several sections exploring how symptoms relate back to the particular biochemistry processes that go wrong in deficiency. The paper was produced in 2021 for the B12 Institute, Netherlands, a specialist B12

Osteopenia and travel insurance
Hi I'm hoping someone can help me! I had a DEXA scan in 2020 and was recommended by GP to take alendronic acid due to osteopenia in my spine. I did some research and declined. Instead, improved my diet, working on exercising more, use a Marodyne Low Intensity Vibration machine and take some supplements

Is anyone here familiar with metabolomic analysis?
I've heard about metabolomics only recently while listening to a Dr Berg podcast. In short, if I understood correctly, it differs from regular blood tests by looking for the concentration of things (like amino acids, minerals, polyphenol, etc...) within your cells rather than the concentration in your

Does tranexamic acid work?
Hi guys. I've had an ablation, and it failed. I had the mirena, and I had 2 rounds of the depo injection and I'm still bleeding so so bad. 2 periods a month now on average, so I'm finally on the list for a hysterectomy. Doctor has now put me on tranexamic acid in the hope that it will help. Last month

kidney stones??
for the last week or so I have been suffering with intermittent severe sharp pains in the area of my right kidney. No warning and happens around 5 to 10 times each day. Never while I’m lying down, sometimes when I stand up or turn while sitting and sometime when I’m standing and bend. It’s very painful

supplements to help DA withdrawal
I am wondering if anyone has used natural supplements like amino acids to increase dopamine while tapering off Pramaprexole? I have wondered if it would help with the decrease in dopamine while tapering. Also has anyone used Modafinil with any luck in helping energy and mood?

I am having a tooth implant done this week, on Wednesday. The surgeon knows I take Alendronic Acid and has advised to not take it on the morning of the procedure. He also said it was okay to take (should take?) a 3 month holiday from Alendronic Acid. Have you heard of that? The procedure involves drilling

pain?
Anybody else have pain on waking, from hips and legs up to arms & shoulders--not explained by exercise or lack thereof? Can barely hobble about the house to get my meds and feed the cat. Sometimes it helps to tighten all the muscles to form an upright posture--but as soon as I loosen them to move, it
