New to PBC
This year my consultant said he thought it was PBC, and trialed me on
Urso
. After 3 months the liver function test had improved. He has said now that he wants me to stay on it. Reading some blogs I find some symtoms really scarey, but up to now I'd had nothing out of the ordinary.

Just want to say hello
I am going to start on
Urso
after my doctor speaks with the pathologist just to get me going. If I do have PBC I suppose I am in the very early portion of stage 1, but time will tell. At this time I have no symptoms to speak of and I feel great.

Prescriptions.
Why do we have to pay for our prescriptions when we have a chronic disease which means we have to take
Urso
for the rest of our lives, yet if we had diabetes we would not have to pay?

Weight gain and severe cellulite
I got diagnosed with pbc two years ago and have been taking
urso
for about 8 months. I have now gained a stone in weight even though I don't over eat and have severe cellulite on the backs of my legs and some on my arms. I'm 36 and it really distresses me that I have this on top of everything else!

I was diagnosed in February 2012. I have been on Urso 500 twice daily since then. My liver enzymes are still chronically elevated.
Has anybody else had this? I was told by my specialist that some people react differently to the medication. Also, has anybody seen the GI team at Mayo clinic? Thoughts?

URSO
When I was first prescribed
URSO
in December 2010 I was told to take two tablets in the day and two at night. I noticed on the leaflet that came with my latest lot of tablets that they recommend you take all four at night.

Urso - (whether to take four tablets a day a night or not)
I would like to thank everybody so much for their responses to my question regarding whether or not to take
Urso
in two split doses or all four at night time.
