Raising INR ??
I know our bodies absorb warfarin differently and that there are many lifestyle factors which will make that even more individual but......... have you had success with any foods or exercise to raise your inr? My hematologist told me that those patients with lupus anticoagulant may find it difficult

Just a warning or reminder to those of you who use Celebrity slim products & are on Warfarin. I occasionally use the protein shakes or soup meal replacements& notice the difference in my INR -- vit K is in the list of ingredients. Be aware if you are struggling to get in range. I self test so am

It's a long story, but I'm as unnerved now as I was at the start.
I slipped into recurrent episodes of fast AF back in August 2013 with no real route cause ever identified. I went through 4 DC cardioversions (and 1 bout of nasty kidney stones) in 3 months. Several combinations of meds were tried after each cardioversion, but only Dronederone actually got things under

Cauliflower
Really fed up now, I am now told that all the veg I eat are high in vit K and now told that cauliflower is too. I thought it was only green leafy veg that was high. What on earth is there left to eat apart from bread.

Probiotics have done it for me.....
I thought I should share with you my recent experience with probiotics (the ingestion of good bacteria into the gut) as the results have been little short of amazing. Like many A-Fibbers, my episodes are triggered by digestive issues. In my case, not just some or many but every episode is preceded

Anyone had a colonoscopy?
Since I did so well with my surgery I decided to go ahead and have this look see. Anybody have any warfarin management insights to share? I'll go off the warfarin and start take the lovanox shots as I did before. I assume the shots, which I start the same day I stop warfarin, means that absorption

Warfarin and interactions with herbal remedies
When taking warfarin it is important to consider diet and maintaining a consistent amount of Vitamin K in your diet as much as you are able. Foods rich in Vitamin K can impede the effectiveness of warfarin and cause fluctuations in your ILR. Have you ever taken warfarin alongside a herbal remedy and

Warfarin not in range so on it plus Heparin. Joints in hands and wrist, knees and one heel painful - why?
INR has gone below 2 and stayed there for a few weeks now. They keep upping the dose but it is having little impact. This means I have to inject Heparin (well family do as I can't stand needles) until it goes above 2. I have noticed my joints are really aching which they don't do when Warfarin is

Am I the only one ---I eat something high in vitamin K & about 15 minutes later achey, numbness, stiffness....
I on clexane & vit k shouldn't matter, but I swear it does. I can eat something & 15-20 minutes later I feel it. It's not my imagination because my family notices it. Anyone else with this experience?

Do you need to avoid vitamin K food on fragmin?
Hi All After 2 years on warfarin, I asked to for my drugs to be reviewed as I had spent 5 months feeling very unwell (INR unstable). I am now on fragmin and feel almost like my old self! I spent 2 years being extremely careful with high vitamin k food (as it would seriously affect my inr) Do I have to

I've been using coumadin (Warfarin) blood thinner for several years and occasionally have discomforting aches in my legs, burning & numbness
I prefer not to take coumadin at all but the doc is adamant. I like juicing and eating my greens but that affects the blood test because greens have vitamin K. So my blood test are never the same. I say why bother. Lately my platelet count is lower than usual.

Diet v AF
I've just had my echocardiogram and will wait for the outcome of that but now have to wait yet again for another appointment to see a Cardiologist but I need answers now! As I'm new to all this I am hoping someone here will be able to help me. I have read that blood thinners strip our body of vitamin

Has anyone went to the Food Hospital in the UK?
I have been having so many problems which I feel can be food related. I sometimes will eat something & about 15 minutes later I will get pain. My legs & arms will get tingly, numb, cold & it feels like they are going a sleep. If I eat a large meal the symptoms are stronger, almost unbearable. I have

ACTH test done but I want these other tests done
I had my ACTH Stim Test done this morning - although I only saw the nurse this is what I've found out: - The Endo/doctor will tell me the result when it comes back. - The nurse who carried out the test explained that the doctors aren't sure why I'm poorly and want to check my adrenal function - but

Vitamin K for emergencies
Hi, I have a INR level set at 3-4, I live in rural Wales where an ambulance would take 30 mins to get to me. I am also a keen woodworker so the risk of a cut is quite high, I take all the necessary precautions. Does anyone also worry about this and if so do you carry a dose of vitamin K for emergencies
