Can I improve or stop progression of CKD
I will be 85 this July. I regularly see my nephrologist every 6 months for CKD and my Hematologist every 4 months for MGUS. And my primary about every 4 months. They all order blood and urine testing to monitor my progress and status. I watch YouTube videos of Nephrologists and Renal Dieticians.

Low egrf, high creotine, everything else normal.
This is new to me and still pretty scary. I am 41. Last November my gfr was 51.. Then in January it tested at 61. Last week it tested at 48. Is it normal for it jump around so much.. My creatine is high.. Like 1.4. It has jumped around a little.. All my other blood tests and urine tests came back normal

GP wants urine sample with annual blood test for thyroid…..any idea why?
Has anyone ever been asked for a urine sample along with their annual NHS blood test for thyroid? I’m 69 and have been treated with Levo for hypothyroidism for a few years but don’t have any other health conditions apart from HBA1C hovering around 40-43. I’ve only been at this surgery for a year and

Hello everyone. I would like to give a little back history on my health condition. Back in November 2022, I went for my regular blood and urine test. Everything in my blood was great but my urine showed a lot of protein . The doctor put me on a medication called Farxiga. I went back 3 months later

I was treated 25 yrs ago for overactive thyroid received RAI which made me hypothyroid and prescribed 100 mcg of thyroxine. I have never felt better with any brand or quantity of Levothyroxine and have given up with NHS doctors with regard to endocrinology. I have just completed reading a new book

Strep B positive during pregnancy
Hi all, I am on my 10th week of pregnancy now (IVF pregnancy) we are super excited, however, as it comes with IVF I am also worried and really hoping the pregnancy progresses well. Yesterday I got my urine test results and it is mentioned that Strep B is found in my urine. I would probably have to

thank you!
We’ve just had a helpful telephone call with Roddy Hughes. He said I was right and mum had most likely flared. I am so thankful that this site has given me the education that I was aware of what was perhaps going on with her and the courage to up her steroids myself. He seemed very unphased that

Mycophenolate or Azathioprine ?
Hi friends, Some of you will remember that in February I had an intolerably itchy rash my Rheumy didn’t recognise as being a Lupus rash but was confirmed by Dermy as such. After being on Prednisolone for a total of 7 weeks tapering down by 5 mg per week, my poor innards were screaming. I couldn’t

waiting for the result of a 24 urine test as possible hypercalcaemia
I am waiting for the result of a 24 hour urine test. I have previously had above the normal range calcium tests. This has been going on for about a year. I’m guessing that the culprit is lithium but I’m wondering whether steroids can cause this ?
