I am on my 10th week of pregnancy now (IVF pregnancy) we are super excited, however, as it comes with IVF I am also worried and really hoping the pregnancy progresses well.
Yesterday I got my urine test results and it is mentioned that Strep B is found in my urine. I would probably have to take some antibiotics. I had the mistake of Googling this and it made me worried to the point I could not sleep all night
Did anyone have any experience with this? I am not sure if I want to take any antibiotics at this stage but then I am not sure what the complications for a baby could be.
If anyone has had a similar story, please kindly share!
Love to all!

hey, I didn’t have it in my urine but was gbs positive. The issue for me was when my. Waters leaked at 33+6 I was admitted and told that from 34 weeks I could be induced. I was and little one was born at 34+4 (albeit in the end by c section) I have antibiotics every 4 hours from the time I was admitted until birth. Little one had antibiotics after birth and spent some time on nnu, but we are home )he is 4 weeks tomorrow, so still should be in utero) and is doing really well!
awww sj482 , thank you for sharing your story xx congratulations with a healthy delivery! I am super happy thar everything went well, it gives me some hope that everything would go well in my case. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
one thing - the antibiotics kill good and bad bacteria so for you make sure that you get some love yoghurt into you ( or dairy free alternative as I had to do! ) and for your baby breastfeeding is the best thing you can do to give them a good gut microbiome! X
thank you sj482 I had to start taking the antibiotics but I totally agree with you, also started drinking Kefir and yogurts on the way. Hopefully, that keep the system in balance🥲xx
