I will be 85 this July. I regularly see my nephrologist every 6 months for CKD and my Hematologist every 4 months for MGUS. And my primary about every 4 months. They all order blood and urine testing to monitor my progress and status.
I watch YouTube videos of Nephrologists and Renal Dieticians.
I want to hear what others are doing to keep these diagnosis from worsening.

I am 82 and diagnosed at CKD 3b almost. My Doctor put me on a CKD diet based on blood work for potassium, phosphorus, sodium and protein. So far it has slowed down the progression. I also attended a class given by Davita which was helpful.
Sounds similar. My Nephrologist did not put me on a diet, just no more that 1 gram of sodium per day. I see her soon and will discuss diet and some supplements. I watch DAVISE TV on You Tube and another Nephrologist on You Tube. She only sees me every 6 months as my blood work has been stable for over a year. Gefr was 48 in early May. I am switching to more of a plant based diet as that is recommended by all the You Tube people.
could you plz share the YouTube channel. I have been having a difficult time getting some one to help as I have to be on a nonrestrictive renal ( my labs are good all around but I have IBS] so someone would have to have specific edu on this matter. Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated. Iβm getting tired of steam in bag veggies with a small pc chicken or fish.
There are several good channels on You Tube. Do a You Tube search for what you want. ie Kidneys. Mgus. Diabetes, etc. Then when watching a video you like, subscribe to that channel and then you can just click on your subscription anytime to see what is there.
