Hi Everyone 👋 This is my first post. I've been on thyroxine for about 20 years and used to be on 175 but for the past 10 years approx 125! I have been asking my GP to higher it - but to no avail. I'm just so tired yet I don't sleep, my weight has gone up by 5 stone, depressed, to name just a few things

low Ferritin and hypothyroidism
I have long-standing hypothyroidism following a sub total thyroidectomy when I was in my twenties. I am now 71 years old. I had a goitre and was told that I had "Woody's thyroglossal disease" (an autoimmune disease like Hashimoto's). I take 125mcg of thyroxine a day. I now suffer from very low ferritin

Looking for sources
Hi, I'm looking for no-Rx T3 sources (shipping to France), as I've been using T3 from questionable sources for a few months and I'm have doubts about dosage being off. Also, any input from people having used brands such as [ redacted supplier ] or Hilma would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sertraline - interactions with thyroid meds?
I’m trying to find out why my FT3 levels have risen alarmingly. This morning, I posted asking whether anyone had any experience of Candersartan affecting FT3. I’ve had two meds added during a recent hospital admission. The first was Candersartan and the second was Sertraline. I stopped the Sertraline

Thyroid disease and raised cholesterol
Hello . Have i hypothyroidism and take 125 mcg of Thyroxine daily. Many of you will be aware that there is a correlation between thyroid disease and elevated cholesterol in fact I understand that high cholesterol used to lead to thyroid disease diagnosis.So. my level is 7 which is high and my GP felt

Reading matter re establishment's attitude to hypothyroid treatment
A friend has a young animal who was born hypothyroid. Said animal has been put on thyroxin and is doing well. Having had the experience of doing well on thyroxin initially and then going slowly downhill until I began treating myself with T3, I thought I would mention it in case needed in the coming years

moving to the UK
Hello all! My family and I are moving to the UK, and I wanted to get a sense of what I can expect for my hypothyroid treatment. I am currently taking both T4 (Liothyronine) and NP Thyroid (a type of porcine thyroid). Both doses are somewhat low as my thyroid is still about to manage some production

T3 update
Thanks to everyone for responding to my first post about starting T3. After feeling awful on 5mg twice a day with 100 levo I decided to up it to 10mg twice a day. My mood lifted, headache went away and I have more energy and motivation. However, I seem to be having problems getting to sleep as if I'm

Complex Ovarian Cyst, Positive Pregnancy Test.
My partner and I (both 31) had been trying to conceive for 13 months with no luck. Went to GP a couple of months ago to start investigations into fertility. I had an ultrasound which showed a 6cm complex cyst on my ovary. They have referred me to gynaecology urgently.I did a pregnancy test yesterday

For anybody still Idiopathic
In 2023, the gene that causes a type of late-onset spinocerebellar ataxia called SCA27B was discovered. Since then, researchers have been developing a genetic test for the condition, which they plan to make available in the UK. If you are interested in finding out more about the genetic test for SCA27B

New and desperately seeking advice and support
Hello, This is my first post, I’m hoping to get some support, advice and knowledge to help me understand what is going on in my body. Please bear with me as I give some background - I have been seen for the past couple of years by endocrinologists after a pituitary macroadenoma was incidentally found

Problems with T3 treatment
Hello I'm writing to see if anyone can offer advice. I'm hashimotos hypothyroid, 5 years and have been Ok but not brilliant on levothyroxine at ~85mcg daily. My T3 has been consistently low at 3.7 while T4 has been 20-21. Not terrible symptoms but high cholesterol, some fatigue, mood often low. Working

curious any hypothyroid diabetics experience out there?
22+ years of both Hashi and diabetes (Type 3c)…Gp has cut my levo from 100 to 75, and I’ve kept the T3 (5x3) as he is convinced that my high HR is from ‘overmedication on levo’ ( long story involving 4 1/2 years long covid)…felt obliged to take lower dose to shut him up and get referred to correct drs
