Acupuncture for bladder issues
We have been trying everything over the past 7 years for our son who has dysfunctional voiding. Currently Solifenicin and TENS from the consultant. We asked if we could try acupuncture if TENS has no impact. Has anyone been down this route - or anything else not NHS standard? We feel we have tried

How long symptoms stay
hi I had 1 injection of Prostap end of sept and unfortunately I suffered with, headaches, insomnia, no appetite. I became really depressed and anxious as well. My dr said it works in your system 5/6 weeks and then stops and will start to leave my body. So I’m 4 weeks now past that. I’m just trying

Low Testosterone and value of continuing Hormone Therapy

PSA slightly rose after 8 months undetectable
I am 57 and on ADT (Firmagon+Zytiga+Prednisone) after surgery in 2022 and 39 sessions of RT in 2023 (Jan Feb). Till now I has been undetectable but at November my bloodwork showed PSA risen to 0.04. Should I be concerned or could it be just random fluctuation? Thanks for your reactions.

my MO tried something out of the ordinary - let me have a 'vacation' from ADT for a short while, even though i am Castrate -resistant. he was hoping we coudl keep PSA down while my Testosterone recovered, to see if that woudl make me feel better. to use his words, i have 'complained bitterly of the

Dual Action Hormone Therapy Targeting Two Parts of Androgen Receptor for mCRPC
Phase I/II trial of masofaniten combined with enzalutamide, a novel hormonal therapy for mCRPC. Masofaniten, a first-in-class N-terminal ligand antagonist for the androgen receptor, shows promise in overcoming resistance to current hormonal therapies. Hopefully a new weapon for us!

Anyone tried cabazitaxel (Jevtana) monotherapy?
If you've tried cabazitaxel
without
ADT, I would appreciate hearing about your side effects and effectiveness. I'm currently in excellent shape at age 72. Previously I tolerated docetaxel (which along with radiation of abdominal lymph nodes helped me return to undetectable PSA for 4+ years

I have questions about Tamoxifen, aka Hormonal Therapy
Hello all, & blessed wishes during the Holiday Season. 🎄 I must admit I haven't been on here for a while, but I hope someone can give me some answers. I was diagnosed with Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer stage 4 in 2021. I have had 6 rounds of Chemo, & a total hysterectomy. I've been doing Avastin since

Ovaries or no Ovaries
I'm 46 next week and have recently been diagnosed with a large fibroid approx 15cm x 10cm and also an ovarian cyst. Consultant has recommended an hysterectomy as I'm also having severe bleeding during my period and am very anaemic. Hysterectomy is also being recommended as my mother had breast cancer

Creatine?
I have a new personal trainer who I am using to help build and maintain muscle mass. I am not yet on ADT (TBD), but I want to have good habits for strength training if indeed I end up going that way. He mentioned recently that he might recommend creatine to me. I did some brief research and it seems

Stuck. Help Plz.
Hi, thanks for all the info here. I’ve been reading for hours, think I’ve tried to absorb too much too quickly as my brain feels like it’s going to pop! I’ve been feeling nauseous with low pain headaches for a month so had a GP apt last week. Bloods were done and all appears normal apart from thyroid

BBB opening with focused ultrasound in nonhuman primates and Parkinson’s disease patients:
This is pretty amazing stuff. They can now briefly open select spots in the brain barrier using focused ultrasound and deliver larger particles like gene therapy (in microbubbles). So it would allow for minimally invasive, early treatment of neurological disorders. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126

Advice about recent NDT thyroid blood tests and high SHBG
Hi there! Is there any connection between high SHBG and taking NDT thyroid medication? I've been feeling better than ever on my Erfa thyroid medication and I don't feel over medicated at all, but I had high SHBG. My estradiol also seems high. I've read that one reason for high SHBG can be hyperthyroidism

Break from ADT or not?
Hi everyone, my Dad was recommended 18-24 months of Lupron/Zytiga/Prednisone after Radiation Therapy. We reached that time and MO said that is up to my Dad if he wants to continue the treatment or not. Lately my dad had high blood pressure over 200 and he ended up in ER, but now the blood pressure is

Recovery and a balanced lifestyle - fun is as important as exercise
Forgive me if I am a little old-fashioned but I trained in occupational therapy many years ago, when emotional and cognitive well-being were considered as important as exercise in recovery from both acute and chronic illnesses. I notice on this forum and also the AF forum that people talk very freely
