History has created a lot of misconception of Functional Neurological Disorders which has led to poor treatment and care of those diagnosed, which includes men, women and children of all ages. FND Action is a charity registered in the UK that has been set up by a handful of people who themselves have been diagnosed with FND and/or NEAD. Our aim is to help those across the UK by providing a peer support network, ongoing advice and current information, and to work in collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure the best care is offered for recovery and long term health management.
LSN

Welcome to the Lymphoedema Support Network community. The LSN is a registered charity run by people who live with lymphoedema. Lymphoedema is a build up of fluid resulting in swelling that develops as a result of an impaired lymphatic system. This may be because the lymphatic system has not developed properly or through damage or trauma. It can affect any part of the body but is most commonly seen in an arm or a leg. Although thought to be relatively uncommon, a recent study has estimated that at least 240,000 people in the UK may be affected. Although lymphoedema can't be cured, its main symptoms of swelling and the risk of infection in the affected area can, with treatment, be controlled and often significantly improved. The LSN offers a telephone information and support line, quarterly newletters, a wide range of fact sheets, a website, self management advice and much more.

Action on Pain

Action on Pain is a national charity established in 1998 by Ian Semmons, our Chairman, as a result of his own frustration that it took so long to get treatment for his pain. That frustration was heightened by the fact that when he eventually discovered Pain Clinics some three years after his injuries the treatment he received was superb. During that journey he met many others in a similar position so knowing that complaining to the NHS was a pointless exercise he was determined to do something positive to help others who were faced with a similar challenge.
